2015 had its share of ups and downs for General Hospital's Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake), who shared some very heartbreaking news with fans in a blog post summarizing the last year of her life.
The past year has been an unbelievable ride for General Hospital's Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio Drake), who took to her official website with a blog post summarizing the ups and downs of her life in 2015. Titled "2015 Year End Wrap Up: The Discovery of DJ Bellum and Other Fun Facts About Being an Adult," the emotional entry details the rewarding work she's done over the year and reveals some very personal setbacks for the actress, including the death of both her dog and her unborn baby.
"The best and worst of 2015 is enough to define me for at least the next 5 years," she began. "What I learned this year is that things can turn on a dime and that it's my responsibility to sit in those moments, no matter how micro they might be, so that I don't get whiplash."
Following the exciting news that she'd booked a gig directing an episode of Pretty Little Liars, McCullough had a medical appointment that had her believing she had a brain tumor. Fortunately, an MRI revealed it to be an arachnoid cyst (which she nicknamed DJ Bellum). After the scare, the actress faced the heartbreaking death of her dog, Melba, followed by the reveal that she was pregnant. But the overwhelming whirlwind of emotion didn't stop there, because McCullough miscarried her daughter at 22 weeks.

"My heart was so full and then it broke. I had lost my baby girl," she writes. "It was too much. I didn't need to learn this lesson. I wasn't interested. But I wasn't in control. These things happen, and no, I don't believe they happen 'for a reason.' I'm still processing, still healing, but anyone who has gone through it knows, losing a baby at 22 weeks is tragic. One thing I am proud of however was that I allowed myself to be happy and to relish the moment. I sat in all that goodness and I can recall those feelings (when I'm having different ones) and I hope that it can be like that again."
In addition to the personal news, McCullough shared her thoughts on losing Jason Thompson (Patrick Drake) from GH, and she hopes he is moving to greener pastures as he begins his time as The Young and the Restless' Billy. "I'm really proud of the work we did, not just this go around but over the last ten years," she writes. "I made a great friend (JT), I gained a TV Daughter ([Brooklyn Rae Silzer], the most precious soul on the planet), and got to tell an important and at times really fun story."
