Travis Scott's annual HBCU Celebrity softball game took place on February 13 at the Daikin Park in Houston, Texas. The HBCU Celebrity Softball Game, famous for raising funds and awareness for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), also supports scholarships for students.
The 2025 event marked the third annual Cactus Jack Foundation HBCU Celebrity Softball game, joined by many celebrities and athletes. However, one of the celebrities who grabbed attention in the softball game because of her style was Tyla. The singer was styled in oversized clothes, which was very different from her usual looks.

Tyla was styled in Nike for Travis Scott's annual HBCU Celebrity softball game
The twenty-three-year-old singer uploaded the reel on Instagram showing her HBCU Celebrity softball game outfit on February 16.
The highlight of Tyla's outfit was her Nike Air Max Muse sneakers in the Black and Oil Green colorway with the Nike swoosh on the side in University Red. These shoes retail at the expected price of around $160 in selected retail stores and on Nike.
Nike's product description explains why the sneakers are a good fit for the softball game:
"The all-new Air Max Muse is a bold, futuristic addition to the Air Max family. Its exaggerated proportions, sleek finishes and unexpectedly high arch showcase the shoe's namesake Air technology."
The 'Water' singer wore a black Nike tee with a small swoosh in the front paired with a cream-colored oversized shirt on top. The custom-made shirt read Tyla 23 on the back, referring to age, along with Cactus Jack branding. Black oversized shorts were seen at the bottom with black and white striped tights and cream-colored socks.
Tyla also wore the black and white gloves with the Nike swoosh. While the gloves are not available on Nike's website, a similar one, "Nike Vapor Jet 8.0 All-Weather Football Gloves," is available on Nike's website for $60.
After speculating on her outfit choice, it's clear that the singer decided to go with a casual and comfortable outfit for the game.
Why did Tyla go with all Nike in the HBCU Celebrity softball game?
Nike announced the partnership with Tyla on February 7 via a press release. Tyla took the opportunity to showcase Nike in Travis Scott's annual HBCU Celebrity softball game. Tyla also admired the brand in the press release by adding,
"I mean, I’m a Nike girl. I love the brand. Nike isn’t just athletic clothes, it’s fashion. I really like that because when I wear Nike, it doesn’t feel like I'm just putting on a shoe or shirt. You feel fly wearing it. All the collabs, vintage Nike, it’s always been something that I gravitated toward."
She further gave hints about the upcoming launch by adding,
"I also love how diverse Nike is. I’m really excited to work together, not only to wear the clothes but to hopefully create something with the team too. Maybe a Tyla shoe? That would be fire."
