Melania Trump wore a three-piece suit from Ralph Lauren for her latest visit to the Capitol. The First Lady of the United States has favored menswear-inspired looks since her crisp navy coat for the presidential inauguration in January 2025.

On March 3, 2025, Trump paid a visit to the US Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, to discuss the Take It Down Act. The First Lady, who has leaned towards power suits since Donald Trump’s second term reelection, was photographed in a three-piece light brown suit, a white shirt, black tie, and matching pumps.

Her blowout hair was styled in a side part, and her makeup was minimalist with smoky eyes, soft blush, and nude lips. Trump sat at a roundtable at the Capitol and spoke in support of the Take It Down Bill—a bipartisan bill aimed at protecting persons from non-consensual distribution of sexual images, including those generated through artificial intelligence, with a focus on deepfakes and revenge pornography.

Melania Trump called on the Congress to prioritize the safety of young people:

“This toxic environment can be severely damaging. We must prioritize their well-being by equipping them with the support and tools necessary to navigate this hostile digital landscape.”

She added:

"Every young person deserves a safe online space to express themself freely, without the looming threat of exploitation or harm."

More of Melania Trump’s most recent looks explored

Melania Trump has always made statements through her fashion choices. Her sartorial leanings have sparked discussions on the convergence of fashion and politics. Whilst the First Lady was seen in more feminine attire during her husband’s first term, it would seem that for this second term, she has leaned towards menswear-inspired looks and sharp suits.

At Donald Trump’s second-term inauguration ceremony, she wore a deep navy Adam Lippes coat and a dramatic hat from Eric Javits. For her official White House portrait, Trump wore a satin suit jacket, a white shirt, a stylish cummerbund, and pleated pants. Her hair was styled in her signature blowout with highlights and a middle part as she struck a power pose whilst leaning on an iridescent table.

For the 2025 National Governors Association Dinner hosted at the White House on February 22, 2025, the First Lady again donned a power suit. She was photographed in a black suit jacket with matching ankle dress pants, a white Tux shirt, and black pumps.
