PUMA officially unveils its new Mostro "Leather" sneaker pack: Where to get, release date, and more details explored

PUMA has applied the concept of "less is more" to their latest Mostro "Leather" sneakers. The sneakers were first introduced to PUMA fans in 1999 and after more than two decades, the brand is bringing them back in two new monotone colors. According to PUMA, the sneakers will be released on February 22, 2025.

The name of the sneakers is derived from the Latin word for "monster". If you look at these sneakers, the studded toe-tip that runs to the midsole and heel area resembles Bowser, a fictional character (Koopa) from the Mario franchise. Bowser is a tortoise with a studded shell and is Mario's arch nemesis.

For the design of the sneakers, PUMA went with

"...a minimal color execution to the maximalist, avant-garde silhouette."

The "avant-garde silhouette" can be seen in the no-lace closure of the sneakers. Instead, the PUMA Mostro "Leather" sneakers have a double strap closure with the PUMA logo at the end of the strap.
