Who is Erika Toda? Gucci announces newest Brand Ambassador

Erika Toda is a Japanese actress who rose to fame in the early 2000s. She starred on the silver screen for the first time in the TV drama series, Audrey. Toda has worked on numerous films, TV series, music videos, and even lent her voice for an animated film, as well as for a video game. In total (at the time of writing), Erika Toda has worked on 35 TV series, 24 films across different genres, and 5 music videos.

Recently, Toda was in the news again. However, this time, it is not because of a new film, TV series, or music video. She was chosen by the Italian luxury fashion house to become one of their newest brand ambassadors. Gucci announced their newest addition to the "family" on X, as well as Instagram. Their X post reads:

"The House is delighted to announce #ErikaToda as the latest Brand Ambassador to join the #Gucci family." - @gucci captioned.

Over the years, Eriko Toda has garnered four awards for her work. These include the 33rd Elan d'or Awards for "Newcomer of the Year" and the 2nd Tokyo Drama Awards for "Best Supporting Actress" for the television series, Ties of Shooting Stars, both in 2009. She also won the 16th Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix in 2012 for "Best Supporting Actress" for her role in The Locked Room Murders. Lastly, she won the 23rd Nikkan Sports Drama Grand Prix in 2019 for "Best Actress" for her work on Scarlet.

Erika Toda on being Gucci's newest Brand Ambassador

Erika Toda has a strong sense of style, which embodies Gucci's refined taste. Back in 2022, she arrived at the Tokyo International Film Festival, wearing a floor-length Gucci dress with a turtle neck design. The dress has a black bodice that extends like a flame-like or branch like effect. A sheer material extends from the black suede material to create a billowing skirt and sheer cuff sleeves.

On being chosen as Gucci's newest Brand Ambassador, this is what Toda had to say:

"I am greatly honored to be appointed as Gucci's brand ambassador. Gucci is a unique brand that combines exceptional craftsmanship with a modern charm that always leads the times. I sincerely look forward to communicating Gucci's aesthetics and vision through future collaborations".
