Rapper Lil Wayne sat down with Rolling Stone to discuss his latest works, with his next album, Tha Carter VI, scheduled to drop in June 2025.
Lil Wayne is still going strong in the hip-hop game, and Rolling Stone is set to feature him on the cover of their May 2025 issue. The magazine introduced the edition featuring the rapper on their Instagram with the lines:
"After missed interviews, all-night studio sessions, and a cross-country game of cat & mouse, Rolling Stone presents its May 2025 cover: Lil Wayne 🎤 The legendary rapper gets brutally honest about 'Tha Carter VI,' his family, the Super Bowl, and much more. Hit the link in bio to read the interview and see all the photos."
Lil Wayne combines style and attitude with a sharp yet laid-back appearance in the Rolling Stone cover. He is dressed in a dapper white dress shirt with a loose black tie and the collar slightly unbuttoned. He exudes a carefree coolness with a black blazer slung over his shoulder.
His distinctive persona is enhanced by his noticeable facial tattoos and his blond hair, which frames his face. Wayne's half-closed eyes and faint smirk convey a relaxed and assured demeanor.
"Energy unmatched," a fan commented on Wayne's look.

Fans have naturally gone wild, and can't wait for the rapper's upcoming album, as well as the magazine edition featuring him on the cover.
"I think it’s gonna be incredible. Tbh it doesn’t really matter who is featured as long as it’s good, and he’s been working too long on this album for it not to be good. I’m excited," a fan reacted on X.
"OMG, everytime I see this, my heart melts," another fan wrote.
"Bro. We literally andrea bocelli on the album. What u think bout that," an X user wrote.

Lil Wayne is still scoring big after three decades in the game
For over 30 years in the business, Wayne has yet to step back from the limelight. In fact, he is putting out material out of artistic choice now, rather than for the sake of industry recognition.
Wayne is known for his energetic style and what some may call a cross between different genres — from the start of his time at Cash Money Records to the creation of Young Money.
In recent times, Wayne has tended to put less focus on commercial success and more on creative satisfaction. He has been working with a wide range of artists including Lil Baby, Doja Cat, and Jack Harlow. His late works like Welcome 2 ColleGrove with 2 Chainz and Tha Fix Before Tha VI are proof of his consistency and his love for the craft.
When Andre Gee of Rolling Stone asked when he last took a vacation, Wayne casually said:
“Vacations are recording.”
What about a real, relaxing vacation?
“I never understood that,” the rapper says. “What are we taking a break from? If it’s a vacation, you’re supposed to do things that you enjoy, right? So I take my music with me.”
He added:
“Imagine you’re a player-coach still averaging 30 a night and a ni**a asking, ‘Hey, do you feel slighted that they don’t put you in the coach-type of conversations?’ ” Wayne says. “No. I’m still dropping 30 [points] a night. I’m fine being the best rapper, and then you just found out, ‘Oh shit, he owns [Young Money]? Oh, he put Drake out? Oh, my God.’ ”
As Tha Carter VI hits the scene, fans can expect a project that is the result of experience as much as it is of skill.
