SNL announced Jon Hamm as host and Lizzo as musical guest for a new episode, scheduled to be released on April 12. This is not the first time that Lizzo has appeared on the SNL show. In the photo, Lizzo was rocking a voluminous afro. Along with the Spears tee, she wore a blue denim and pink and white earrings to complete her look. The internet didn't take much time to appreciate the singer and show their honest reactions.

Fans suspect Lizzo wearing a Britney Spears tee at SNL is tied to Janet Jackson's 'Queen of Pop' controversy
Lizzo appeared on the Sibling Rivalry podcast on April 1. In the podcast, Lizzo stated that Spears has been impersonating Janet Jackson by saying,
"Here is why I said Janet Jackson is the Queen of Pop: Britney Spears is doing a Janet impression, and she said it. Janet is her diva. There were no such things as pop divas before Janet. She was first. Janet was famous when Madonna was a kid watching her. "
The statement was a reply to Lizzo's 2021 Twitter post where she referred to Janet Jackson as the Queen of Pop.
Lizzo’s comment about Britney Spears copying Janet Jackson upset many of Britney’s fans, who defended Britney. However, there were many fans who took Lizzo's side and pointed out that she was just praising Janet without saying anything negative about Britney.
With Lizzo wearing Britney Spears's shirt in SNL promos, fans suspect it's her way of making peace about the whole situation and honoring Spears.
