What do we know about the plot?

You're Cordially Invited, is an unforeseen wedding war involving two different families, who both strongly trust that they have gotten a hold of a perfect venue for a perfect wedding.

Jim who is played by Will Ferrell is a dedicated and single father who has always succeeded in taking care of his daughter, Jenni played by Geraldine Viswanathan.

When Jenni gets engaged, Jim wants to make sure that his daughter has her dream wedding at Palm Meadow Island, which is the same wedding venue where he once exchanged vows with his late wife.

However, just a few minutes prior to the venue owner finalizing the booking, the venue owner is met with his demise, and unbeknownst to Jim, leaves the wedding reservation to a halt.

In the meantime, Margot who is played by Reese Witherspoon, is a popular reality TV producer, and she is also in the process of organizing her wedding of her younger Neve who is played by Meredith Hagner.

With Margot being highly fixated on making her sister's wedding a perfect one, she takes complete charge of every single tiny detail. Unbeknownst to her, she accidentally books the same venue at the same weekend as Jim.

When both the families arrive at Palm Meadow Island for their particular wedding celebrations, they come to realize the booking mishap that has taken place and neither of the families want to back down.

A story that begins as a respectful and civil talk soon starts to escalate with sabotaging the other.
