Netizens are slamming xQc for his take on Doechii's "Anxiety" music video.

In a tweet on X, the streamer, whose real name is Félix Lengyel, penned:

"This is just awful, what an unfortunate use of the original song."

Doechii sampled Gotye's "Somebody That I Used to Know" for her track, and her music video includes references to the original music video.

Droves are flocking to the comments section to slam the media personality, with many noting that he should keep his comments to himself. Here's how one user reacted, for instance:

"I’m Not even a doechii fan or a fan of the song… But wtf do you know about good music?"

The comments didn't end there:

"this is way better then the original," one user opined.
"Not to mention the original song at that time was kinda boring at least they made it more with more vibes," someone else defended.
"Music is subjective so you have the right to your one opinion. The thing is, you may influence and manipulate kids but we adults see through you," another chimed in.
"Now I have to listen to the original to forget this existed," a fourth user chimed in.

Here's how the rest of X is reacting:

"She made it 5 years ago. It started trending again because people found again and genuinly enjoyed it," someone pointed out.
"Shes the goat lil bro respect her," another chimed in.
"Who are you? Is this the dude who the song originally came from? If not, why does his opinion matter? Probably never even listened to it but hopped on the bandwagon of low hanging fruit," yet another echoed.
"Sometimes the original version is just good enough," someone else penned.

Users were visibly divided, though a large number felt like the track was a massive hit and Doechii deserved all the recognition she got for it.

What we know about Doechii's latest track as artist says she's shocked by its success

In the music video for "Anxiety," Grammy-winning artist Doechii paid homage to Gotye. The official music video features an ensemble of dancers— and her real-life twin sisters— in a chaos-ridden house.

In one scene, there's a reference to a video for Gotye’s track, with the extras sporting the same body paint shown in the iconic 2011 video. It also shows the musician sitting in a recreation of her old bedroom, where she recorded the original 2019 version of the now-hit track.

During an interview at Billboard's Women in Music Event, which took place earlier this month, the songstress reflected on the newfound success her track has become privy to, noting that it shocked her.

"That song is years old, that I made in my bedroom just goofing around, and now it's something that's huge, and that people connect with, which is powerful," she said at the time.

Doechii has not yet responded to the streamer.
