Captain America remains one of the most loved superheroes in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) roster. Chris Evans played the superhero in the Captain America trilogy, as well as the Avengers series of films.
Evans was seen as Captain America, whose alter ego is Steve Rogers, in Captain America: The First Avenger (2011), Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016). He also essayed the role in The Avengers (2012), Avengers: Age of Ultron (2015), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), and Avengers: Endgame (2019).
In 2022, Evans gave an interview in which he spoke of a desire he wants to be fulfilled. The actor, who has now departed from the role of Captain America, has been a part of several other successful films, too.
When Captain America star Chris Evans spoke about his desire

Captain America actor Chris Evans gave an interview to MTV News in 2022 when he was promoting Lightyear. In the interview, the actor spoke about an 'overwhelming desire.' When the interviewer asked him if Jeff Bezos had ever contacted him and offered him a trip to space, Evans replied:
"Back on the Lightyear front, I'm curious there are so many weird kind of opportunities that come around, like, on the press side, did [Jeff] Bezos ever call and say, 'Hey do you wanna go to space?' If you had gotten that call would you ever have accepted?"
In response, the actor stated that he would have accepted the offer because going to space is one of his dreams. He said:
"I would've absolutely accepted. I mean, I am dying to go to space. I'm a massive massive space nerd. For me the idea of space, the concept of what is out there, it's overwhelming to me but it brings me an incredible sense of peace and perspective and you know, in that kind of insignificance, I find a lot of tranquility. So for me, going to space would be a dream come true."
Interestingly, according to the website of NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory, the Avengers: Endgame actor had received a boarding pass for Moon from NASA in 2022. This meant that his name, among more than three million, was stored in a flash drive and sent to the Moon on the Orion spacecraft, during the unmanned Artemis I mission.
Work front of Chris Evans
After his final act as Captain America in Avengers: Endgame, Chris Evans went on to do several films. He was one of the main characters in the 2019 mystery thriller Knives Out and the antagonist in the Russo brothers film, The Gray Man (2022). Evans also reprised his role of Johnny Storm, or Human Torch, from the Fantastic Four franchise in the 2024 superhero film Deadpool & Wolverine.
In 2023, Deadline reported how the actor, speaking to GQ, spoke of how reluctant he was to take on the superhero role. He said:
“I was really apprehensive about taking the role initially. I remember in my late 20s having a real shift in how I felt on set, how I felt promoting films: a little more anxiety, a little more uncertainty. You always end up questioning, Is this what I should be doing?”
While Evans didn't entirely rule out the scope of returning in a superhero role, he said he wouldn't do it just for the money. The actor noted:
“I’ll never say never, just because it was such a wonderful experience. But I’m also very precious with it. It’s something that I am very proud of. And like I said, sometimes I can’t believe it even happened. And I wouldn’t want the black eye if it felt like a cash grab or if it didn’t live up to expectations or if it just felt like it wasn’t connected to that original thing. So, no time soon.”
Chris Evans has, meanwhile, denied the claims of him returning in Avengers: Doomsday.
