What is the story behind Wolfs?
Wolfs begins with District Attorney Margaret (Amy Ryan) recovering from a shock after she finds a dead man in her hotel room. The young man was her company for the night, and his death was an accident.
Regardless, Margaret does not want this incident to ruin her reputation. So, she calls a professional fixer (George Clooney), who "takes care" of similar crimes. He arrives to put her worries to rest. Moments later, they have a visitor.
The guest happens to be another professional fixer (Brad Pitt), hired by the hotel's owner, Pam - who sees the incident through a hidden camera in Margaret's room. The two fixers are forced to do this job together. They reluctantly agree.
What happens to the kid from Margaret's room?

After Margaret leaves the room, the fixers find a stash of drugs in the young man's bag. Pam expects the fixers to return the drugs to their proprietor. So, the fixers take the 'kid' to their car - only to realize that he is alive and has just overdosed on drugs.
The kid (Austin Abrams) tries to run away, but the fixers catch him. Upon interrogation, they learn Kid was delivering the package as a favor for his friend, Diego. He tried those drugs in the hotel room, which led to his accident.
Soon, the fixers realize that Kid was set up by Diego and his employer, Lagrange, who presumably stole the Albanians' drug shipment. The kid enters Langrage's location but leaves unscathed as Langrage's men and the Albanians kill each other.
By then, the fixers fight the men sent by Croatian gangster Dimitri (Zlatko Burić). Then, they find Kid to kill him as ordered. However, at the last minute, they decide to send Kid back home alive.
Do George Clooney and Brad Pitt's fixers die in the end? Answer explored

After leaving Kid, George Clooney and Brad Pitt's fixers enter a diner and have a heart-to-heart over a meal. Upon discussion, they realize that they have the same motto - "You take a job, you give your word, and that word is the measure of a man."
So, the same person employed them both for the same task. It means that their mutual employer pulled the strings to get them both executed. As it dawns upon the fixers, they notice a group of hitmen outside. They decide to reveal each other's names before entering the shootout.
The ending of Wolfs does not reveal whether George Clooney and Brad Pitt's fixers make it out alive or die in the gunfire. It was open for interpretation and left room for a potential sequel. However, it might not see the light of day, according to a recent interview with director Jon Watts.
Watts was reportedly displeased with Apple's decision not to let Wolfs have a wider theatrical release. While Apple was interested in a sequel, Watts had written the Wolfs sequel in mind. Eventually, the filmmaker decided not to return to make a sequel due to the change in Apple's release plans. During an interview in November 2024, Watts said:
“I don’t know what I’m directing next, and I don’t think there’s going to be a Wolfs sequel.”
So, the fate of the two fixers in Wolfs is up to the viewers to decide.
