As per the official website of Stampede Entertainment, they have made some announcements about the Tremors sequel.

In their statement, they have mentioned that they are contemplating to make a sequel of the 1990 film, which would be centered around a plot where the characters would come back to Perfection. It would be garnished with some more offbeat elements where the grotesque, deadly graboids would be in a new ambience as well.

In the statement, they have also made it very clear that the sequel shall not serve as a remake to the original film, or neither would they make a fresh casting for the film. It even would not be a variant of the initial script of Tremors 5 too. Towards the end, they mentioned that they are interested to bring back Kevin Bacon embodying the iconic character Val from the 1990 film, but there is no confirmation about it.

Here is what Stampede Entertainment have mentioned about the Tremors sequel:

As was announced at the Santa Fe Tremors Fest in October, 2024, the partners in Stampede Entertainment have reclaimed the rights to the original script for Tremors.
We’ve been exploring what this may allow us to do, so here’s the update.
First, we aren’t reading outside ideas.
We are discussing a return-to-Perfection sequel, and one or two more outlandish ideas featuring graboids in new settings.
Whatever we decide to pitch to Hollywood, it will not be a remake the first movie with a new cast. Nor will it be a version of our original script for Tremors 5 (a question that is frequently sent to the Stampede FAQ)
We are considering ideas that feature the return of Kevin Bacon as Val, but no promises!

Stampede Entertainment has not produced only the 1990 film, but have also produced a total of 3 follow-up films in the franchise as well, which includes the 1995 film Tremors 2: Aftershocks, and followed by the other two films Tremors 3: Back to Perfection (2001), and Tremors 4: The Legend Begins (2004). These films were not theatrically released, as they were in straight-to-video format. Out of these, the 2004 film is a prequel.

Along with the films, the production company also supported a total of 13 episodes of the 2003 television series of the film franchise,Tremors the Series.

The last released straight-to-video sequel of the film franchise was 5 years ago, the 2020 film Tremors: Shrieker Island. The previous follow-ups before this film includes Tremors: Bloodlines (2015), and Tremors: A Cold Day in Hell (2018).

Except for the 1990 film, Kevin Bacon did not return to his role as Val in the rest of the projects in the series. Helmed by Ron Underwood, the original 1990 film follows the plot of a friends duo Val and Earl, who decide to move to Perfection, Nevada, in order to escape the mundanity of their lives. However, little did they know that they would have to run for their lives due to the presence of the ghastly monsters called Graboids.
