If what the former WWE Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins has said is true, he is all set to bid adieu to his part in the upcoming Marvel film Captain America: Brave New World. Though the rumors have been high since last year, it seems like Marvel has finally taken his role as a Serpent Society member, Cobra, down before Captain America could.

Following the news, fans may wonder if Marvel is finally doing the Serpent Society. To answer that, the organization will be there in some capacity, as Giancarlo Esposito is playing their leader, Sidewinder.

But then the WWE superstar may not be in it. But then Andrew Garfield outright denied his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Seth was involved in the shoot; that is the only confirmation. However, he now says that whatever role he was playing is being removed.

Why is Seth Rollins' role being removed from the movie?

Seth Rollins sets the record straight in these simple words

"I wish it the best, but I am not a part of that film."

He confirmed (or pulled an Andrew Garfield) in a recent interview that the film went through several reshoots and rewrites, and that process ended up killing the role. He says,

"The script went through a lot of rewrites and reshoots so what I was there to do, essentially my role got either repurposed or completely erased."

To add more credibility to the news, Seth Rollins outright declined to a fan's dismay who believed he spotted him in the Captain America Brave New World trailer. A sad new world for him.

Even if his role is scrapped from the MCU project, it doesn't seem to affect him. He is into more wrestling than acting, as he told the host in the interview. Though his wife, Becky Lynch, who is also a professional WWE wrestler, is into acting, he says.

For the fans who are going to cinemas when the film is released, he asks them not to be there if the only driving force for them to sit in the theatre is him.

Seth Rollins was too excited about this role

There is some disappointment in this, even though the WWE superstar isn't really into films. But when he was asked once in an interview about his role, he couldn't hide his excitement, though he did manage to hide the details of his mysterious role.

He told Josh Scherer, while appearing on his show Last Meals, that,

"It was a really good experience and I think it’s going to be pretty cool. I think our audience is going to love it. I think their audience is going to love it, so it was a cool crossover to be able to jump into some totally different skin and try a new thing out for me."

If fans see the latest interview where he confirmed the news, the disappointment is inevitable. Or why shouldn't it? Though he has appeared in several films before, this could be a big role for him, as many speculated he was a major supervillain.

Dave Bautista is one WWE superstar who's set his feet well in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Drax the Destroyer from Guardians of the Galaxy; a match between him and this potentially lost Seth Rollins' character would surely prove to be a Marvel-ous one.
