Spider-Man: Brand New Day is the title of the forthcoming film, in which Tom Holland will be portraying the titular web-slinger. The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home laid the groundwork for future events.

Amid the announcements, there is also general excitement and intrigue about whether Doctor Doom will appear in the forthcoming Spider-Man film. It's because it will be released between Doomsday and Secret Wars, and Holland is not acting in Avengers: Doomsday. So, let's explore the details and find out the chances of Doctor Doom actually appearing in the next Spider-Man film, which will be released on July 31, 2026.

Is Doctor Doom going to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Day?

After Sony released the title of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, fans have been reportedly speculating if Doctor Doom can appear in this film. Because the film will be released between the two Avenger films, Doomsday and Secret Wars, we can expect something to happen.

We can see the web-slinger dealing with the fallout of the events from the former Avengers storyline before Secret Wars. So, the makers might come up with a way to include Doctor Doom in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.

There is also the chance that the forthcoming web-slinger film will take place on the same timeline as Doomsday. This can make it easier for creators to have Doctor Doom in the plot, perhaps echoing the events like in Avengers: Infinity War and Ant-Man and the Wasp that were released in close quarters.

More about Spider-Man: Brand New Day

At the CinemaCon, which took place in Las Vegas, Tom Holland sent a video as the title Spider-Man: Brand New Day was announced. In it, he said:

“I am so sorry I can’t be with you. I am halfway around the world shooting a movie."

Holland was referring to Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which he is shooting. He further said,

“I know we left you with a massive cliff hanger at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ so ‘Spider Man: Brand New Day’ is a fresh start. It is exactly that. That’s all I can say. That’s all I’ve been allowed to say and I’m well over the hump of giving away spoilers, so don’t be worried. I’m not going to do that today."

Spider-Man: Brand New Day is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton and will be released on July 31, 2026. At the event, Cretton dropped a hint about the plot and said,

“I’m spending my time exploring the next stage of this amazing character with a team of the most incredible artists in the world. We’re all, just daily, nerding out over the suit, how to swing, how to create an event, an emotional story, and a ride that we haven’t really seen before."

Meanwhile, Avengers: Doomsday will be released on May 1, 2026. Anthony and Joe Russo are returning to helm another MCU film after the 2019 Avengers: Endgame. It will be the fifth Avengers film and the 39th MCU film, kicking the sixth phase. The cast members of the film include Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr. (who portrays Doctor Doom), Vanessa Kirby, Anthony Mackie, Sebastian Stan, Paul Rudd, and Letitia Wright, among others.
