The multiverse in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is about to go full force, and Avengers: Doomsday is likely to be the film that finally shows us the hidden threats in it. Loki (2021) and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022) kickstarted this madness, but a lot remains uncovered.

The MCU community is already buzzing about the range of heroes to appear in it. Spider-Man? Captain America? Ghost Rider? Who knows? These are some interesting characters, but we are here to talk about Deadpool. We don't know who will appear in it, but we sure would like to see the Merc With A Mouth entering a conversation with Cap.

Deadpool and Wolverine are certainly fan favorites right now, and both appearing in Secret Wars is all but confirmed. But what about Avengers: Doomsday? There's no confirmation, and Ryan Reynolds isn't sure if he'll don that suit again. But wait, this is the MCU we are talking about; anything is possible here.

Remember Andrew Garfield, who kept denying his involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021) and eventually ended up in there? Great. That's your hope.

Deadpool should not be in Avengers: Doomsday if the MCU isn't going by this storyline

The MCU putting Doctor Doom and Deadpool in the same room in Avengers: Doomsday is very unlikely if they aren't picking up this storyline from the comics where both swapped bodies. In this story, Doctor Doom is Deadpool, while Deadpool is Doctor Doom. Oh boy! That's seriously a doomsday for humanity.

It first happened in 2011 with Amazing Spider-Man #38 in the Identity Wars storyline, which sees Hulk, Deadpool, and, of course, Spider-Man in alternate realities. We'll skip the Spider-Man and Hulk part here.

So now our Merc With A Mouth is in some different reality; it turns out he is the Death Mask in this universe. That's basically a result of his tumor being cured, which renders him a super genius, much like Doctor Doom.

What's most interesting is that Victor Von Doom, who is actually a super genius, turns out to be a mercenary like Wade Wilson, here called Deathwish. Though he wears a green suit, it's still similar to Deadpool's. The original one would sure have had a death wish had he ever come to know about this.

That is one funny story and with a lot of chaos. Now, the chaos part is okay when we consider Avengers: Doomsday, but it sure isn't going to be funny.

But Deadpool can be part of Avengers: Doomsday in one way

Some rumors say that Doctor Doom will try to stop an incursion from happening. Now, incursion is a phenomenon when a couple of earths from different universes collide, and one or both will vanish by the time an incursion ends.

We saw this concept in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness when Earth-838's Strange triggered an incursion, which Mr. Fantastic (John Krasinski) explains to the Strange from the Sacred Timeline like this,

"One night you called us all together, confessed that you had been Dreamwalking, and in your words, things have gotten out of hand. You never told us the details of what had happened, only that you had inadvertently triggered an incursion."

Basically, he wanted him to know that his being in a different universe brings a risk of incursion. Though it isn't exactly the 'two earths colliding' stuff, you get the gist.

We know that Deadpool walks different universes, and only Loki knows (pun intended) how much time he was outside his universe. That is one thing to consider when we are talking about incursions. Maybe there's something to do with the rumored incursions in Avengers: Doomsday and Deadpool traveling through the multiverse.

For now, there is no confirmation if Deadpool will appear in Avengers: Doomsday or not. The only time we saw a Deadpool (that too a variant) and a Robert Downey Jr. was recently during the Oscars when Dancepool ended up being at the Oscars.
