Rod Wave was set to perform at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 28, 2025, as part of his ongoing Last Lap tour. However, the singer canceled the concert just an hour before it was set to take place. The singer's decision to cancel the concert subsequently drew backlash from the singer's fans online.
Now the singer has come forward to address the backlash from the last-minute cancelation. The singer stated in an Instagram Live post soon after the concert was canceled:
"Okay, so bout the tour. Y'all know it was f**ked up since the beginning. Because of production. They had to cancel and reschedule and it just wasn't making sense. The second leg had the same problem I never missed a show for nothing personally ever in life."
In subsequent Instagram live posts, Rod Wave talked about the medication he was taking to keep performing and pointed out that the show's tickets were refunded. He also apologized for the cancelation in the final post:
"My foot and ankle injury killing me whole tour but this (showing medicine pouches) is what I had to do to continue I been mentally tweaked out, please excuse me. All I'm saying is I dedicate my life to this music sh*t and too many fans, I wish yall was a lil more understanding."
Rod Wave continued:
"If the stage & lights and etc not built right and I paid over 13 million dollars for it it's not fair to me or y'all to get a half done show. Sh*t completely out of control. And yall know if the show don't happen yall get full refunds. I jus think its a better idea to come back in a couple of months with the show down pack. Bigger & Better."
In the final post, Rod Wave stated his apology:
"I'm sorry Yall!! Yall know this sh*t always been professional ran tight. Maybe I jumped out there too fast Ima b back wit dis sh*t together."

Rod Wave's tour was previously postponed in late October 2024 by the touring company the singer is working with, Grizzly Touring Company. At the time, the tour was postponed due to production issues.
The tour also faced security concerns on its Sacramento show, where the singer was forced to cancel the show after three people were injured at the Golden 1 Center. Thus, the singer's tour has been troubled since its very start, with the cancelations of Nashville and Atlanta showing only the latest signs of the situation.
