Massive Attack was set to play its first US gig in five years this October. However, the band has now canceled its tour due to what they have stated to be "unforeseen circumstances." The band announced the cancelation of their tour with a post on their Instagram story on October 11, 2024, which is no longer available:

"Due to unforeseen circumstances, Massive Attack must regrettably cancel their upcoming performance at III Points Festival in Miami FL on October 19th, as well as their shows in Atlanta GA, Washington DC, Boston MA, and Forest Hills NY. We appreciate your understanding at the time."

The band's statement does not include details of the ticket refund. However, tickets are usually refunded by authorized ticket vendors such as Ticketmaster within 30 days. Those who purchased tickets from third-party vendors will need to reach out to said vendors for refund details.

Massive Attack has shows planned in the UK

While Massive Attack has canceled its shows in the US, it still has scheduled shows in the UK. The shows will be alongside IDLES and Nile Rodgers. The shows will be in Liverpool at the M&S Bank Arena in honor of the city becoming the first UN Accelerator City. The Massive Attack show will be held on November 29, 2024.

The band elaborated on the new shows in a general press statement, quoted here from NME's article published on September 24, 2024:

"Our recent Bristol show demonstrated beyond question that major live music events can be Paris 1.5 compatible, and that audiences will embrace change enthusiastically. The vast scope of work in Liverpool and UN recognition means we can now concentrate more dynamic pilots and experiments to rapidly phase out fossil fuels..."

Nile Rodgers has also elaborated on the shows given below:

"Some of the greatest CHIC shows have taken place in Liverpool so I’m thrilled that we are bringing our funk back to the city. We love the people and it’s always a night to remember. However, the circumstances this time are special, as we’re joining forces with our friends in Massive Attack to launch Liverpool’s UN climate action programme across music and film."

The singer continued:

"Our We Are Family Foundation community of global youth changemakers have been sounding the alarm and working in the climate change space for years, as have Massive Attack, and now it’s time for all of the music and film communities to get onboard. Yes, we’re going to have a party at Liverpool Arena, but we’re also going to act!”
