Long ago, Hulk Hogan was once a man alone atop the mountain of sports entertainment. The now polarising figure made headlines last year with his first foray into the alcoholic beverage industry. Real American beer, Hogan’s newly conceptualized brand, aimed to provide a light, and palatable option for consumers across America. The newly formed company had also announced a marketing partnership with WWE RAW, an iconic wrestling institution and Netflix’s newest sporting commodity. As part of the deal, Hogan’s brand would see its logo on the wrestling mat at the events, and as part of this multi-year partnership, the WWE would also become a minority owner.
At a recent promotional event for the newly minted beverage company, chaos broke out. The end result: an Ohio woman is now suing Hogan and Real American Beer, after suffering a head injury while in attendance.
Why Hulk Hogan is in Hot Water, Again
At the Real American Beer event in question which took place at a local bar, Hogan began to let loose. He allegedly began celebrating by hurling cans of beer into the audience, allegedly even sending one a distance that was estimated to be in the vicinity of 50 feet. One such throw stuck the plaintiff Ms. Michelle Hatlukowicz in the head, causing an open wound that required stitches.
Ms. Hatlukowicz’s attorney, Eric Tayfel spoke on the unfortunate event.
"It's unconscionable to think that you're going to go to a bar to see a celebrity and end up being pelted with it with a can of beer"
It is reported that the wound she sustained was significant though local police were unable to determine who threw the beer can. As a result, no criminal charges were filed after the incident, although Hogan and his band are being sued for negligence. The latest news continues the trend of negative news breaking about the former star.
Hogan’s Woes
Prior to this news, Hulk found himself being heavily criticized by many social media users for his public endorsement of now-President-Elect Donald J. Trump, on his recent campaign for re-election. While speaking at the RNC (Republican National Convention) Hogan displayed familiar histrionics, as he ripped off his shirt and called for the American public to let ‘Trumpania’ “run wild”.
It was even suggested that Trump would offer the former wrestler a position in his upcoming cabinet.
Then, in January of 2025, Hogan appeared at WWE RAW’s Netflix debut, filmed in Los Angeles. The event was star-studded with The Rock, John Cena, and The Undertaker present at Netflix’s inaugural show. However, due to his recent missteps in the arena of public opinion, Hogan was unceremoniously met with boos from the moment he walked out.
