Who Was Stephen Collins Married To? All About The 7th Heaven Star's Family

The case of Stephen Collins is going to be one of the focal points of the new 6-part docu-series by Investigation Discovery, called the Hollywood Demons, set to premiere on Monday, March 24, from 9 pm to 11 pm ET/PT on ID and will be streaming on Max.

Known for his role as the honorable pastor and dad- Eric Camden, for the WB series 7th Heaven, Stephen Collins, husband of Faye Grant at the time, started being investigated by the police after a tape of his alleged confession to a therapist, about se*ually abusing underage girls, was leaked to TMZ in 2012.

In 2014, in his lengthy statement to PEOPLE, he admitted to having had inappropriate relations with 3 female minors for 20 years, from 1973 to 1994.

"Forty years ago, I did something terribly wrong that I deeply regret. I have been working to atone for it ever since. I've decided to address these issues publicly because two months ago, various news organizations published a recording made by my then-wife, Faye Grant, during a confidential marriage therapy session in January, 2012. This session was recorded without the therapist's or my knowledge or consent."

Stephen Collins and Grant's Relationship

The Michigan-born American actress, best known for her role as Dr. Juliet Parrish in the 1983 sci-fi miniseries V and its sequel V: The Final Battle, met Collins on the sets of Tales of the Golden Monkey in 1982, and they immediately fell for each other. And before you know it, after a two-year courtship, they got married in 1985.

Their life was perfect, with Collins and Grant being the lovely parents to their only child, Kate Collins, born in 1989. But, the aspiring Ballet dancer's life from 2007 to 2009 was a hard one as in 2007, she got injured and had to step back from taking dancing too seriously, and again in 2009, when she got in a car crash in Brentwood, California.

But what started as a fabulous Hollywood romance, took a darker turn in 2012, when Stephen Collins filed for a divorce, which blindsided Grant. This was followed by the leak of the audiotape to TMZ, which Grant admitted to having made, but denied having any involvement in the leaking of the tape. Though, Mark Vincent Caplan, Collin's lawyer, said:

"Faye has repeatedly threatened to give this audiotape to the media, unless Stephen agreed to pay her millions of dollars more than to which she was legally entitled. It appears that she has finally found an audience for this tape. Not surprisingly on the eve of the trial in the divorce court."

Their divorce was finalized with the judgment that every copy of Stephen Collins' audio recordings would have to be destroyed. Their divorce settlement included a 50/50 split of the sale of their homes in Brentwood.

Hollywood Demons on Investigation Discovery and Max

ID, in their press release for Hollywood Demons said:

"Each gripping two-hour episode features accounts from Hollywood insiders, project collaborators, and survivors who endure harrowing abuse and struggles."

The series is said to feature one of Stephen Collin's alleged victims, where she tells about what she went through, and 7th Heaven cast members, including Jeremy London, who dive deep into how they felt when the rumours about their co-star surfaced.
