Albert Walker Mondane, professionally known as Sauce Walka, was reportedly shot in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 22, 2025. The incident, which has been noted as a targeted attack according to the police, occurred outside the Westin Hotel near the FedEx Forum.
Walka survived and is reportedly in stable condition, but his artist Sayso P succumbed to his injuries, according to a report in All HipHop. The shooting took place in broad daylight at around 2:45 pm when the victims were standing outside. A white vehicle approached and opened fire before speeding away from the scene.

Al Rage Walker, Sauce Walka’s father and famously known as “Poppa Sauce,” told KHOU 11 News that his son is coherent and expected to survive his injuries. "Had it not been for God, my son would've been dead," he said.
Walker is a self-described former WWE professional wrestler, 14 times World Heavy Weight Wrestling Champion, and a music video director.
He recently shared a video on his Instagram about how it is a blessing to wake up every morning. His video was captioned, “Stay strong, always stay in your lane.”
He talked about the value of time and motivated his followers to live in the moment. His video came after his son survived the shooting incident.

Sauce Walka nearly escaped death when he became the victim of a targeted shooting in Memphis, Tennessee, on March 22, 2025.
According to the Memphis Police Department officials, the shooting was not random, and the investigation has been going on to trace the suspects.
“So we’re convinced that vehicle has fled the downtown area. Certainly want everybody to be on the lookout for this white vehicle. We put out a citywide broadcast on that vehicle,” MPD Assistant Chief Don Crowe told WREG.
"Currently, we have detectives from the homicide unit. We have detectives from the CSI unit on the scene conducting the investigation. Hopefully, we’ll be able to develop suspect information real quickly.”
According to a report in All HipHop, no arrests have been made by the police related to the incident so far. Sayso P and Sauce Walka shared their location on Instagram just hours before the shooting, where they flashed stacks of cash to their viewers.
Sauce Walka is a well-known rapper in the underground hip-hop scene, hailing from Houston, Texas. He has collaborated with rappers like Chief Keef and Travis Scott and is best known for his Sorry 4 The Sauce and Sauce Ghetto Gospel mixtape series that produced hits like Ghetto Gospel. As per DM News, he founded the label The Sauce Factory (TSF), which helped artists like Sayso P gain public recognition.
Walka is known for his beef with fellow artists, public altercations, and brushes with the law that have kept him in the news. The report further that in 2025, he released six singles, the latest one includes, Beat It Freestyle which dropped on March 18.
