Former child actor Rory Callum Sykes died on January 8, 2025, in the devastating LA wildfire. He was 32.
His mother, Shelley Sykes, announced the news on social media, stating:
“It is with great sadness that I have to announce the death of my beautiful son @Rorysykes to the Malibu fires. I’m totally heartbroken.” She wrote.

He lived on a “17 acre Mount Malibu TV Studio estate,” which burnt down in the wildfire, when his mom was unable to “put out the cinders on his roof with a hose because the water was switched off by @LVMWD Las Virgenes Municipal Water.”
He was known for his role in the 1998 British television show, Kiddy Kapers. On his website he described himself as a “well-traveled gamer turned investor and entrepreneurial philanthropist and a professional speaker.” He was born in England and raised in Australia, it added.
