Quinta Brunson, well-known for her TV show Abbott Elementary, has filed for divorce from her husband, Kevin Jay Anik.
The two tied the knot on October 5, 2021, and remained married for three years, reported Today. In the court filing obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, which was filed on March 19, 2025, in Los Angeles Superior Court, Brunson cited the reason for their divorce as “irreconcilable differences.”

According to a report in The Sun, Kevin is a Sales manager, based in Los Angeles, California.
The court documents further stated that the former couple has a postnuptial agreement, under which “all property [will] be either awarded to or divided between the parties pursuant to the terms of said postnuptial agreement," Brunson stated. She added that each party would be responsible for their own attorney’s fees.
Brunson has kept her relationship with her husband extremely private. However, she has mentioned her husband on particular occasions, speaking about how supportive he has been in her career.
Their divorce has intrigued netizens, making them curious to know more about their life.
Exploring the relationship between Quinta Brunson and Kevin Jay Anik
Quinta Brunson rarely spoke about her relationship with Kevin Jay Anik, keeping it largely out of the spotlight. They had been married for three years and shared no children. So, how did their romance blossom? Let’s take a look.
Although the exact date of their engagement is not known, an Instagram post shared by Brunson suggests they got engaged in July 2020. The photo showed the actress flaunting her diamond ring, with the caption, “More good news.”
She rarely posts about Anik on social media, nor does he seem to have a social media profile himself, as per People magazine.

They were reportedly spotted together attending the FWRD party in Los Angeles, held in honor of Dwyane Wade's induction into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame.
According to a report in People magazine, the actress, who rose to fame with the series Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date, has publicly appreciated her husband’s dedication to her on a few occasions.
One of them was when she won an Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy in 2024.
“Oh god. I love my mom, my dad. My sisters, my brothers. My entire family so much. I love my husband. I'm so happy. I love my cast. Oh, I love Abbott Elementary. Thank you so much.”She said.
Previously, in 2022, during her acceptance speech at the Emmys, Brunson thanked her “wonderful husband” and said that “he’s the most supportive man I’ve known.”
In an interview with People that same year, she refrained from sharing details about her relationship and said:
“I don’t talk about my relationship that often, because it’s something that I like to keep sacred and safe. Nor do I bring him out to be analyzed or attacked by the world.”
That was not all—during an interview with Oprah Winfrey, Brunson gushed about the support Anik has shown her.
“My husband, that’s what I mean by him being the biggest support, that there is no need to dim me at all,” she said that time. “That allows me to love him fully and be the person that I want to be and am meant to be.”
Despite her appreciation for her husband, it is hard to tell why the couple separated, as they have always maintained a low-key relationship. Things seemingly ran smoothly in their marriage until reports of their separation emerged recently.
