The recent events following the death of Latvian basketball player, Janis Timma have drawn significant attention to his ex-wife Anna Sedakova.
Sedakova is a prominent singer, actress, and television host in Russia. She rose to fame in 2002 as a member of the Ukrainian pop group Nu Virgos, as per a report in Newsweek.
She reportedly finalized her divorce with Janis Timma in December, shortly before his death on December 16.
According to the reports, the professional basketball star died by suicide after falling from a high-rise apartment building in Moscow. The incident took place on his ex-wife’s birthday. A phone containing a message from Sedakova was reportedly found near his body.
Reacting to the death of her ex-husband, Anna Sedakova shared an Instagram story in tears. In the post which was re-shared on X, the 42-year-old pleaded with her fans and followers to keep her child out of controversies.

After the news of Janis Timma’s death broke out in the media, Anna Sedakova took to her Instagram to share an emotional message for her 5.5 million followers.
“I beg you very much. I’ve wondered my whole life how people who have something like this happen to them can still post stories and now, I’m asking you very strongly — I have a child, he’s small, he doesn’t need to know any of this." Sedakova said in Russian in a heartbreaking video on her Instagram story.
"I just have to save my child from this information. If you can, please keep it to yourself.” The actress pleaded while urging the public to refrain from discussing Timma’s death publicly for the sake of her child.
Sedakova also reflected on the struggles during her relationship with Timma and said, “You have no idea what hell I have lived through over the last few years."

Reportedly, Anna Sedakova married Janis Timma in September 2020. Their tumultuous relationship ended in 2024. The couple shared no children.

However, the marriage ended in divorce in 2006. Byalkevich reportedly passed away on August 1, 2014, after suffering an aneurysm.
Her second marriage was with Maxim Chernyavsky, a businessman in 2011. However, they divorced two years later in 2013. The couple share a daughter named Monika.
