Astrid aka Astrid Hofferson-Haddock is a fictional character and one of the main characters of the animated movie How to Train Your Dragon.

How to Train Your Dragon is a famous media franchise from DreamWorks Animation and is inspired by the book series of the same name written by the British author Cressida Cowell. The franchise has a total of 3 movies released under its name with the first movie coming out in 2010 and the third movie in 2019. Apart from working in the main movies, the production also released various short films namely "Legend of the Boneknapper Dragon", "Dawn of the Dragon Racers", "How to Train Your Dragon: Homecoming" and many others.

The movie franchise is set in the Viking era where dragons are a common species. The story showcases a boy named Hiccup who struggles to make a name for himself as the son of the chief in the town and is also terrified of fighting a dragon. While it is very clear that, unlike other Vikings, Hiccup is not in favor of killing or hunting dragons, he struggles to express his emotions with his dad. As the story goes on, Hiccup ends up meeting Toothless, an extremely rare dragon who is identified by the name of Night Fury. His journey with Toothless gives the villagers a broader perspective that dragons can be friendly, only if treated well.

By the end of the first part of the movie, it is revealed that Astrid and Hiccup both have feelings for each other and end up in a relationship (as displayed in movies 2 and 3). By the end of the 3rd movie, we see a timeskip for Hiccup where he is married to Astrid and has two kids with her.
