Comedian, Dick Capri, passed away on Thursday, December 26, 2024, at the age of 93. He was diagnosed with a bleeding enlarged aorta that was rendered inoperable due to the aging factor.

Reports stated that Capri spent his last Christmas with his family including his son, daughter-in-law, and his life partner in Florida, before dying in his sleep. His last meal was food from his favorite restaurant.

As reported by TMZ, his son, Jeff Capri, explained that his father knew his time was near. Paying tribute to his father, he added that the world has lost one of the funniest and kindest people in show business:

"The world is not as funny today as it was yesterday," Jeff said.

Capri’s son “is one of the top second-generation comics working today,” according to his IMDb profile. Jeff currently resides in Hermosa Beach, California with his family. He is reportedly described as an "energetically laid back."

According to Jeff's official website, his career spans 25+ years (1999-2024). However, his style of comedy takes a different direction than his father who was known for his Catskill style. According to a few reports, Jeff traveled to Iraq to entertain American troops in 2003.

Jeff Capri has worked with several notable artists including Ellen DeGeneres, Rodney Dangerfield, Joy Behar, and Bill Burr. He also starred in the documentary, I am Battle Comic, according to his official site. He continues to be active in the comedy circuit by hosting stand-up comedy events across various venues such as comedy clubs, cruise ships, and corporate events.

All about Dick Capri’s career

Dick’s career spanned several decades as he gained fame in the early 1970s while touring with the prominent singer, Engelbert Humperdinck. The tour provided him the chance to play at prestigious venues such as Radio City Music Hall, and the Palladium in London. He made his Broadway debut in the revue Catskills On Broadway in 1991. He also performed on a television special broadcast for BBC in England, according to his official website.

The website stated that Capri:

Reportedly. He was part of New York Friar's Roast and had performed for Presidents Gerald Ford and George Bush.
