Deborah Norville, known for anchoring Inside Edition, is leaving the show after 30 years.
The two-time Emmy winner announced the decision to her viewers on April 2, 2025, on the program. Inside Edition is the longest-running syndicated newsmagazine program focusing on entertainment stories, true crime, and lifestyle features. It has been running since 1989, according to a report in Hello magazine.
Norville has been part of the show since 1995. She also took to her Instagram account to share the news through a clip with her followers.
“It’s been an amazing ride and I will leave with gratitude for the people I have worked with and for - and the viewers who have watched. Twice before I made career moves for personal reasons (Chicago to NBC News in NY, CBS News to Inside Edition) and they were the right decisions.” She wrote, and added
“This decision is also motivated by family … and I know it it’s a good one. There’s lots more to come from me … just from a new place.”
The 66-year-old anchor is married to Swedish businessman Karl Wellner, as per Hello magazine. They reportedly tied the knot in 1987 and share three children, Kyle, Mikaela, and Niki. Here is everything to know about her family.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Deborah Norville’s husband is the President & CEO at Papamarkou Wellner Asset Management, Inc., which he joined in 2003. A report in Nicki Swift stated that he is also the founder and a shareholder of an investment management firm called KAWE Kapital.
As per the outlet, the couple met on a blind date and fell in love instantly. As per the anchor’s IMDb page, they tied the knot on December 12, 1987, after dating each other for two years.
They are parents to three kids: Niki Wellner, Kyle Wellner, and Mikaela Wellner. A report in Hollywood Mask suggested that Nick is the eldest of all, followed by Kyle and Mikaela. They attended Duke University. Nick is an account executive in Intercom Australia, Kyle handles his father’s business in his firm Papamarkou as an associate, and Mikaela is a Sales Development Rep at Attentive, New York.
As the longtime anchor of Inside Edition since 1995, Norville managed to maintain a strong presence in broadcasting while prioritizing her family life. She demonstrated her ability to balance her career and family. In 2015, according to Inside Edition’s official website, she received the “Mother of the Year” award from the American Cancer Society. During her acceptance speech at the ceremony, which was held at The Plaza hotel in New York, she said:
“I love being a mother and I really do love every aspect of being a mom.”
Norville is often seen sharing content with her kids. One of her recent posts is of a cross-country road trip with her daughter Mikaela. She posted a clip from their journey where the mother-daughter are seen having a fun ride. The post was captioned:

Born in 1958 in Dalton, USA, Norville first started her career at FOX 5 Atlanta after graduating from the University of Georgia in Athens, according to a report in USA Today. Earlier in April 2019, she revealed in a video that she had to undergo surgery to remove a cancerous thyroid nodule.
Her departure from Inside Edition opens new doors to explore different opportunities. Reportedly, she is set to host a new game show called The Perfect Line, which will debut in fall 2025.
