Laterrika Woods, the sister of Memphis rapper Big Boogie, tragically lost her life in a police chase on March 26, 2025, in Arkansas.
According to Woods’ Facebook profile, she lived in Memphis, Tennessee. She was an influencer with 4.7K followers on the social media platform. She was a mother to a young son and described herself as a boy mom. In her last Facebook post on March 25, 2025, she showed off her sneakers and a glamorous bag.
A report in Fox13 indicated that the 29-year-old was a passenger in a vehicle involved in a high-speed pursuit with Arkansas State Police. According to another report in Distractify, the incident occurred as the vehicle was returning to Memphis from a birthday trip when the driver failed to stop for law enforcement. Police reportedly rammed the SUV from behind, causing it to flip over, which eventually resulted in Woods’ death.
30-year-old Torkilo Hambrick reportedly drove the vehicle. According to reports on Fox 13, he allegedly drove a truck that exceeded 120 mph. According to a report in HypeFresh, Taricaa Lashay was another victim who suffered serious injuries, including the loss of an arm during the accident. The incident has raised serious concerns about police chase tactics in Arkansas.

According to the report in Distractify, Big Boogie, whose real name is John Lotts, took to his Instagram to share the news of his sister, Laterrika Woods’ loss. He posted several photos of himself along with his elder sister. He captioned the post as follows:
“I Love You Sister. Tears Tears Tears. @_dadonwoo. I’m Logging Off Today” He wrote.
Immediately, his fans and followers took to the comments section to send their condolences:
“Praying for you my brother” A fan wrote.
“this is sad Lord cover him and his family give them the peace and strength they need.” Another fan added.
The rapper had not made any comments since his last post on Instagram. According to ASP Col. Mike Hager's statement in a news release:
"This tragedy is a direct result of the suspect's reckless, selfish actions. This is another example of what can happen when a suspect flees from law enforcement. Fleeing suspects are terrorizing and traumatizing our communities. Our Troopers will not and cannot look the other way.” He said, as reported by Fox 13.
The police reportedly charged Torkilo Hambrick with Woods' death. He is a registered s*x offender and had active warrants out of Shelby County for probation violation, the report in the outlet further mentioned. The troopers discovered two guns, money, a bottle of promethazine, marijuana, and drugs inside the truck.
