Alba Farelo Solé a.k.a. Bad Gyal, is an emerging Spanish singer, songwriter, and DJ, hailing from Catalonia in Spain. She made a mainstream breakthrough in 2016 through catchy music that blends the genres of reggaetón, trap, and dancehall.
Alba seems to be gaining unsavory attention recently after the former Migos rapper, Offset, took to X on September 7, and cleared their dating rumors. The pair sparked dating rumors earlier this month after they were pictured together at the New York Fashion Week.
With Offset and Cardi B reportedly filing for divorce last month, his public appearance with Alba had fans assuming the two had begun to date. Offset, however, set the record straight by posting a picture from the event with Anna Wintour, indicating the picture with Alba had no deeper meaning.
It was seemingly a quick jab at people who assumed the pair was dating just because they were pictured together. The rapper also stressed through the post that he came to the New York Fashion Week alone.

Bad Gyal didn't seem to want the unfounded rumors going on for long either and shared a picture on Instagram featuring her with Doechii and Offset. The story was seemingly intended to confirm she did not attend the event as a duo with Offset.
Alba has not been very vocal about her relationships and dating life over the past few years. She debuted in 2016 with the release of Pai, a Catalan version of Rihanna's global hit, Work. The track was later featured in her debut mixtape, Slow Wine, which came out in November of the same year.
The mixtape comprised two singles - Mercadona and Fiebre - and charted at no. 75 on the Spanish Streaming Albums chart. Bad Gyal seemed to be away from music for most of 2017 but bounced back in February 2018 with her sophomore mixtape, Worldwide Angel.
The synth-heavy project comprised addictive tracks like Trust, Blink, Tra, Internationally, Candela, and more. The mixtape solidified Alba's presence in the Spanish music scene and debuted at #11 on the Spanish Streaming Albums chart.
She showed no signs of stopping there and released singles like - Santa María, Hookah, Alocao, and more. Her October 2019 release with Omar Montes - Alocao - was one of the biggest hits and gave Bad Gyal her first no. 1 song on Spain's PROMUSICAE chart.
Alba continued to work on different projects and released her debut EP, Warm Up, in March 2021. It was an immediate hit and debuted at fifth on the Spanish Albums PROMUSICAE chart.
She released a second EP, Sound System: The Final Releases, in December of the same year. The EP with songs like Nueva York, Su Payita, and Slim Thick, did not make it to the charts.
Bad Gyal reached a career milestone early this year with the release of her long-awaited debut album, La Joia. It came out on January 26, 2024, and topped the Spanish albums chart.
Bad Gyal's La Joia sold over 20,000 copies in Spain this year and was certified gold. The U.S. release of the song achieved 30,000 sales and was certified Gold (Latin) by the RIAA. The album comprises tracks like- Give Me, Pop Pop, Mi Lova, and more.
