Red One to get early streaming on Amazon Prime Video

While it is still in its fourth week at the box office, Red One will be available on Amazon Prime Video on Thursday, December 12, 2024.

While the movie sits at 31% on Rotten Tomatoes, it is still going strong at the box office, thanks to the Christmas spirit. Because who doesn't want to watch two guys save Christmas against all odds?

The movie follows a winter adventure when two goons ambush Santa’s legendary North Pole outpost and kidnap him. No Santa means means no gifts on Christmas Eve? But to undo this, Callum Drift, the commander of E.L.F. (Enforcement, Logistics, and Fortification), teams up with hacker Jack O’Malley to bring Sanata back in time for Christmas.

No points on guessing if they do manage to bring him back but the movie is sure to give you all the fuzzy feeling just ahead of Christmas Eve.

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson plays Callum Drift, the head of security at Red One, Santa's code name.

Chris Evans plays Jack, the world's best hacker. In an interview, Evans discussed his character Jack,

“It’s always fun to play a rascal. But in Jack’s personal life, he’s struggling. He has a son that he neglects. Aside from his family struggles, he’s lost that Christmas spirit. He works by himself and moves through the world by himself. That loneliness has made him a bit ossified.”

''When we put Dwayne and Chris together for the first time, that energy was immediate. They sparked off each other. They just started riffing and cutting on each other, one-upping, and generally having fun at each other’s expense. We knew we had a special dynamic right there.”
