More about Predator: Killer of Killers
Predator: Killer of Killers is directed by Dan Trachtenberg (who had earlier directed Prey) and Joshua Wassung. Trachtenberg has also written the film with Micho Rutare. The animated anthology film will consist of three stories in and around different timelines, with the first story revolving around the Vikings.
The second one takes place in feudal Japan and has a ninja as the protagonist, who is at loggerheads with his samurai brother. The third story is about a man who served as a pilot during the Second World War. The film stars Rick Gonzalez, Louis Ozawa and Lindsay LaVanchy.
Per Comicbook, at a press event Dan Trachtenberg spoke about the film and another film in the franchise called Predator: Badlands. He said:
“I had three very cool ideas. One of them, the first one, the one I was the most excited about at the time, was Badlands. But then there was this other thing, that was Prey, [that] was really cool. We got to put the Predator in these different time periods and tell that story. I think the thing that made Prey special, though, wasn’t just Predator in a different time period, it was that the story we were telling was made better by the story of the Predator, and I didn’t want to just throw them into a different time period. I really wanted to figure out, if we were to do that kind of thing again, how could it be special? And what’s the kind of story we could tell that could be equally badass and awesome, but also emotional and thematic and character-oriented?”
He said the germ of Killer of Killers came from his urge to set the story in different time periods and give it a different medium.
