Wynne Evans attended the Strictly Live tour launch earlier this month, during which he was spotted making an inappropriate remark to a professional singer and presenter Janette Manrara, suggesting a threesome with actor Jamie Borthwick using the derogatory term 'spitroast'.

The singer has now apologized for the remark, stating in a statement published on January 26, 2025:

"My language was inappropriate and unacceptable for which I sincerely apologise."

An unnamed spokesperson for Strictly Live Tour and BBC Studios also issued a statement on the same day, stating:

"We were not previously aware of the remark and did not receive any complaints. We have made it very clear to Wynne that we do not tolerate such behaviour on the tour."

Neither Janette Manrara nor actor Jamie Borthwick have come forward with their own statements regarding the incident. Wynne Evans has been issued a warning for the incident. After the incident, the singer dropped out of the Glasgow concert of the tour due to an ankle injury.

Wynne Evans recently worked on a series with Joanna Page

Wynne Evans recently worked on a new series titled Wynne & Joanna: All at Sea with Joanna Page. The singer talked about the new series in an exclusive interview with BBC on January 15, 2025, talking about what the trip was like and what he learned from it:

"There were so many good moments I have to say, but I think it was the simplest things that were the nicest. I enjoyed kayaking with her when I fell in the water because I actually thought she was going to laugh so much that she was going to fall in as well. There’s so many good moments to the programme!"

The singer continued:

"I’m not sure I’ll ever be experienced enough to work on the sea, I still get sea sickness - so does Jo! But it taught me that making time for each other and friendship is the most important thing in life and not just material things, so it’s been really good for me as a person."

Earlier in the interview, Wynne Evans talked about his friendship with Joanna Page, stating:

"We just don’t wind each other up so it’s really, really good fun. We never have a cross word to say, but we just take the mickey out of each other from morning until night and I think laughter is the secret of the friendship. Really, we laugh all the time - nobody makes me laugh like Jo does."

Wynne Evans is an opera and concert singer and has worked on projects such as Gianni Schicchi and The Cunning Little Vixen as well as The Secret Marriage, among others for various Operas around Europe.
