The Merry Gentlemen is the latest addition to Netflix's holiday season fare. The Merry Gentlemen stars early 2000s heartthrob Chad Michael Murray and Britt Robertson in a comforting and feel-good rom-com drama. Apart from the two stars headlining the Netflix film, Gizmo the Dog has also generated a substantial fan following. Gizmo is a Merle Pomeranian and appears in the film as the family dog owned by Ashley's (Britt Robertson) sister.

Gizmo didn't appear in The Merry Gentlemen by chance as the producer of the film, Brian Nolan, is his owner. Brian knew that Gizmo's adorable appearance and cute disposition would add another layer of attraction for the viewers and he was right!

If Gizmo appears to be remarkably confident and affable on the screen, it's by no accident since producer Brian Nolan has been in the habit of dressing him up for occasions such as Halloween and getting him clicked.

The Merry Gentlemen follows Ashley, a Broadway dancer who is left out of a big production. She subsequently decides to head back to her hometown to save the Rhythm Room, a local watering hole owned by her parents. In doing so, she organizes a male revue to stir things up. Here's everything we know.

The Merry Gentlemen: Gizmo's details revealed

As mentioned earlier, Gizmo is a Merle Pomeranian. This breed is known all over the world for its rarity and elegance. It is a fairly new addition to the Pomeranian family. Owing to his unique appearance, Gizmo has often been compared to a miniature Husky. This is because Gizmo possesses a Husky-like fur color and even has certain identical markings on him.

Gizmo was born on April 12, 2021, and is a little more than three years old as of this writing. According to an Instagram post by his owner Brian Nolan, Gizmo was adopted shortly after his birth and has been an integral part of the Nolan household ever since. Nolan wrote back then:

"Hey y’all…I guess the ‘puppy’s outta the bag’ at this point…but I felt the need to officially announce that a week ago, I adopted this little guy! Ladies and Gentlemen, meet Gizmo! Getting a dog was a long time coming for me, and I’m so happy to have come across this little handsome stud. Gizmo’s currently on the road with me for work and is adjusting to set life and travel very well."

Speaking about his love for Gizmo, the producer of The Merry Gentlemen added on Instagram:

"Dogs are the greatest, most beautiful, compassionate, loving and most loyal creatures on earth. I love you Gizmo Nolan with everything inside of me. Thank you for coming into my life 3 years ago and changing it in so many fantastical, beautiful and special ways. I love you buddy forever, always, and beyond."

Gizmo thus is the apple of Brian's eye and Brian is fond of playing dress up with him. Back in 2022, he and Gizmo dressed up as Batman villains Riddler and Joker respectively. He followed it up again by dressing up as Aladdin himself on Halloween, with Gizmo donning the costume of Aladdin's primate friend, Apu.

Is the Rhythm Room a real place?

For The Merry Gentlemen, the ball is set rolling by Ashley's bid to save the Rhythm Room, owned by her parents, from going out of business. It is revealed in the course of the film that the bar is facing a plethora of financial difficulties and is on the verge of being sold off and refashioned as a juice bar. Thereafter, Ashley comes up with the idea of hosting a special male revue featuring Murray that once again brings the spotlight upon the bar.
