Philadelphia rapper Gillie Da King, whose real name is Nasir Fard, has claimed that basketball star Noah Scurry has killed his son Devin Spady also known as YNG Cheese.

According to a report in TMZ, he revealed that he was informed about it by the police that the 17-year-old was responsible for his son’s death and that he was close to being arrested and charged with the crime.

The revelation was made during the Club Shay Shay podcast on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, hosted by Shannon Sharpe, who is reportedly a 3x Super Bowl champion and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Gillie Da King added that his son was not the intended target and was simply in the wrong place at the wrong time. YNG Cheese was killed in a triple shooting in Olney back in July 2023, as per a report on Fox 29. He was 25 years old.

Multiple reports stated that YNG Cheese, the son of the rapper turned podcaster Gillie The King was killed in a triple shooting in Philadelphia’s Olney section on Thursday, July 20, 2023. The shooting took place just before 8:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mascher Street and Nedro Avenue, as reported by CBS News.

According to the reports by the police, Cheese was shot in the back and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Reportedly, the other two men who were shot beside him included a 28-year-old man who was shot twice in the leg and a 31-year-old man who was shot in the hip.

Gillie’s co-host Wallo posted a heartfelt tribute on Instagram and wrote,

“Lil Cuz usually when I talk to you, I got a lot to tell you. Tonight the pain in my heart & tears spoke to you. I love you beyond life Cheese. I got your father, Rest Well!”

A report in NBC Philadelphia indicated that police informed that a masked man with a white jacket opened fire, striking Spady and others. None of the arrests were made at that time as his killer was on the run.
