Venom trilogy finally ended with the newest Venom: The Last Dance. The trilogy premiered with Venom in 2018 with Tom Hardy as Eddie Rock, aka Venom. With writer-director Kelly Marcel, Hardy has delivered, perhaps, the finest movie in the trilogy, a perfect conclusion to Eddie's story.

While Hardy has been consistently adamant that this is the conclusion to Eddie and Venom, and we see the superhero die at the end of the movie, the post-credits scene hints at a possibility of the hero's return, albeit in some other variant.

The film also introduces a significant supervillain for Sony in Knull, which has the potential equivalent to Marvel's Thanos.

The mid-credits scene of Venom: The Last Dance takes viewers into Knull's prison in the void, where he directly addresses the people of the Earth. He warns the people about their ''Champion's'' apparent death and indicates his plan to rule Earth. He then goes on to say:

"Your planet will be mine. The King in Black is awake, I will kill your world, everyone will burn, and you will watch."

The scene cuts to a terrifying reveal of Knull's face, played by Andy Serkis. The character was created by writer Donny Cates and artist Ryan Stegman.

With Morbius and Madame Web not doing great at the box office, the only options available right now are Dr. Payne's symbiote, Agony (who might be Venom's replacement), and Kraven the Hunter (another hero yet to be introduced).

The franchise will need to introduce a team of superheroes against this supervillain because what is a powerful villain without a superhero team to fight against?

Does Venom: The Last Dance post-credit scene hint at Venom's return?

While Venom dies in the movie, the post-credit scene of Venom: The Last Dance hints at the possibility of revival (maybe in another form). When Knull realizes that the Codex is gone, which can only happen if either Eddie or Venom dies, Venom's death is hinted at. Since Eddie wakes up in the hospital, Venom's death is confirmed.

The film's post-credits scene takes us to the rubble, where everything is lost after the battle with Knull's Xenophage. As an unnamed bartender calls out for any survivors, we see a cockroach crawling towards a broken glass canister.

This scene directly connects with the canister Rex Strickland used to capture the tiny bit of Venom's symbiote from the bar. The choice of cockroaches, which are tough creatures to kill, is also interesting, as it could hint at the nature of the symbiote.

If this is the case, there is a thin possibility that Venom might return as himself or another form from the Symbiote preserved by Strickland. Since a small part of Venom's existence exists in the Universe, the makers have not pulled the chord on the character completely.

While there is no assurance on Venom's return or whether he will make a comeback, it will be interesting to see what Sony has in store for Knull, the supervillain, and Kraven, the new Superhero.
