Silvia Galván, a renowned Mexican celebrity stylist, passed away on April 16, 2025. She was 70 and had been struggling with Stage 4 stomach cancer.

Her family shared the news of her demise via her official Instagram account. They wrote:

“With deep sorrow and sadness, we announce the passing of Silvia Galván, an exemplary woman whose life was an inspiration to many. Silvia was a tireless entrepreneur, a visionary and a pioneer of the beauty industry in our country.”
“Her passion, commitment, and leadership left an indelible mark on every project she undertook, and her legacy will live on in every person she touched with her talent and generosity.”

According to a report in The Pinnacle Gazette, her cancer was diagnosed after an emergency surgery that took place on March 4, 2025. Her daughters, Jessica and Érika A. Galván, shared the news update about her health earlier on social media. After being hospitalized for 10 days, she was discharged on March 12, 2025.

Her demise has sent shockwaves across the film industry. Many of her friends and fans have extended their support to her family. Several paid tribute to the late celebrity stylist.

“Fly high darling Silvia Galván! You were a visionary and beauty pioneer in 🇲🇽 and you gave me the joy of immortalizing your work for one of my albums with your makeup and hairstyle. Thank you for your talent! I will always remember you with great affection! DEP.” A user wrote.
“Silvia Galván. You left as fast as you lived: decisively, with style, with strength. You left a mark not only on hair, but on souls. You marked generations with your art and your character.” Laura Zapta, an actress and singer said.
“Dear friend alone 2 weeks ago I went to see you and within the whole diagnosis you looked radiant, at peace, beautiful, with a lot of desire and convinced that this would be just part of your testimony, thank you for that hour we had together fly high. Silvia Galván.” Her friend, Karla Pineda said.

Rest in peace my friend. I hug your daughters with a lot of love.” Lili Amorós, Galvan’s another friend wrote.

Born in Monterrey, Nuevo León, Silvia Galván was a highly influential Mexican hairstylist and beauty industry pioneer. She became one of the most recognized figures in Mexican fashion and entertainment, who was known for her innovative hairstyling and transformative work.
