Pamela Bach, the ex-wife of David Hasselhoff and former Baywatch actress, has passed away. She was 62.

According to a report in the BBC, the Los Angeles Medical Examiner's office said that her body was discovered at her home in the Hollywood Hills. The cause of her death was reported as suicide.

Hasselhoff took to X to confirm the news in a statement and wrote,

“Our family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of Pamela Hasselhoff. We are grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult period but kindly request privacy as we grieve and navigate through this challenging time.”

Bach met Hasselhoff on the set of the TV series Knight Rider in 1985. The couple got married in 1989 and welcomed two daughters, Taylor and Hayley. But in January 2006, as indicated in the Daily Mail, Hasselhoff filed for divorce, citing "irreconcilable differences," and Bach filed her paperwork the following day, alleging domestic violence and infidelity.

So, what sparked the end of their marriage? Let’s take a closer look.

Exploring the divorce of David Hasselhoff and Pamela Bach

Hasselhoff and his ex-wife Pamela Bach reportedly shared joint custody of their children following their divorce in 2006 after 17 years of marriage. According to a report in The Sun, the Baywatch actor was directed to pay $21,000 a month to support Bach and their children in his divorce settlement.

After the divorce proceedings, a strange incident caught David Hasselhoff off guard, or should we say misfortune began to follow him?

According to a 2006 report in Today, British Airways turned the actor away, citing that he was too heavily drunk to fly. However, Judy Katz, his publicist, denied the reports, calling them “totally untrue.” She said that he was not drunk but was unwell after he took some medication for a recent arm injury.

In 2008, according to a report in the Daily Mail, Bach opened up on her divorce from Hasselhoff and how his alcohol addiction led to the end of their marriage.

“David is a falling-down drunk, and I covered up for him for years. Alcoholism destroys you whether you are a regular Joe or the biggest star on the planet.”

The late actress also claimed that he broke her nose, but he slammed her claim, stating,

“The only person who broke my wife's nose was her plastic surgeon.”

Bach later expressed,

“I don't want this to be an attack on David. I love him. I always have. He's a good man. He's tried desperately hard to get sober. But he's an alcoholic. He has a disease, just like cancer. And just like cancer, it ate away at our family from the inside...”

The report further added that his visitation rights for his two children were halted for two weeks due to his alcohol addiction.

Another report in ABC in 2009 indicated that his 16-year-old daughter found him unconscious and hardly breathing; he was immediately rushed to the hospital, where he was treated for alcohol poisoning. Later, his attorney, Mel Goldsman, declared it a false story planted by his ex-wife.

In 2016, as reported by The Sun, Hasselhoff claimed that he went broke and could no longer support his ex-wife’s payouts. His court documents showed that he had less than $4,000 in his bank account at the time. They agreed to lessen the amount to $10,000 a month, and in 2017 the amount was reduced to just $5,000 a month. He claimed that he had paid more than $2.5 million since their divorce in 2006.

In 2017, TMZ reported that Hasselhoff wanted the amount to be reduced to zero due to his reduced income and Bach’s failure to get the job. She responded that she's made "good faith and reasonable efforts" to find a job as an actress, but, given her age, who was 55 at that time, it is next to impossible.

Hasselhoff tied the knot with his girlfriend Hayley Roberts in 2018 and has been married since then, as reported in People magazine.
