The first trailer for the highly anticipated 28 Years Later is finally out and fans are speculating if Cillian Murphy's Jim has been infected. The film serves as the third installment in Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s iconic zombie franchise and will continue to explore a darker world.

The first film 28 Days Later had Oscar-winning actor Cillian Murphy in the lead role of Jim—a bicycle courier who navigated through dangers in a world infected by the rage virus. Unlike typical zombie stories, the 2002 film focused on a virus that turns people into aggressive and violent beings.

Now almost three decades after the first breakout, the world is under strict quarantine but some have learned to live alongside the infected. As seen in the trailer, the characters will encounter deadly situations as they fight for survival in the harsh environment.

The focus has now shifted to Aaron Taylor-Johnson's Jamie, while Murphy's involvement is not fully confirmed. However, the trailer seems to have dropped a hint that Jim has caught the virus. Continue reading to know more about the upcoming threequel.

The first official trailer for 28 Years Later is out on YouTube, offering a chilling glimpse into the post-apocalyptic chaos that awaits. Starring actors Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes, the trailer kicks off with a flashback that reintroduces viewers to the deadly rage virus.

It also gives a strong nod to 28 Days Later and features a scene in which kids are watching Teletubbies on TV and are soon interrupted by bloodshed, with a wavy CD track setting the eerie tone of the film. It then jumps to 10,228 days after the outbreak and shows how survivors live in small groups, trying to escape the virus.

However, the main plot will revolve around a group of survivors living on a small island that is separated from the mainland. When one of them heads out, he discovers dark and haunting secrets and even mutated survivors. This hints that the world is facing a situation far worse than the infected humans.

Cillian Murphy is also serving as an executive producer for 28 Years Later and has previously hinted at his return. And now after the release of the trailer, fans are speculating that Jim has been infected by the rage virus.
