Actor and Comedian Will Ferrell has come out to support Vice President Kamala Harris ahead of Presidential Elections 2024.
The “Elf” actor has jokingly threatened the voters to stand for Harris in an off-beat advertisement released by the Kamala Harris campaign.
"This election is going to be one of the closest in history. Your vote will make the difference. That means you, Gary. ‘Oh, blah blah blah, I’m just one person.’ No. Shut the f— up, Gary,” Ferrell mocks a voter for suggesting that his vote won't make a big difference.
“Last time, only a few thousand votes kept Trump out of office. And this time, we will hold you personally responsible, Gary,” Ferrell jokingly threatens the voters.
With this recent ad, Ferrell has joined the likes of celebrities like Beyonce, Lady Gaga, Richard Gere, Mick Jagger, Reese Witherspoon, Margaret Atwood, Harrison Ford and others who have lent their support for Kamala Harris.
How has social media reacted?
Ferrell’s message has evoked critical reactions from users on social media.
One user called him “a paid Hollywood prop” for urging voters to vote for Harris.
"Paid Hollywood prop Will Ferrell, threatens White Males who refuse to vote for Harris to keep Trump out of Office."
Another questioned the circumstances they would face if they didn’t give her a vote.
"What they going to do throw us in camps?"
Another user wrote that is a “threat” and urged the users to stand for Donald Trump and JD Vance.
"Dem party using Will Ferrel to signal violence: “We will hold you personally responsible, Gary” That’s what we call in layman’s terms “A THREAT.” The party of Joy is a cover for the party of hate and violence. Wake Up. Vote Trump Vance 2024"
One user wrote that he never found him funny.
"I've never found him funny & suffered thru Elf every Christmas for my wife. Thanks for giving me the reason to not allow that anymore."
Someone else called him a “poor messenger” and slammed him for “threatening revenge and retribution."
"Former celebrity, Will Ferrell, conveyed the democrats message, which is threatening revenge and retribution, holding people responsible if they don't vote for Kamala Harris. Ferrell is a poor messenger, because not everyone has a clown phobia."
