“We are deeply saddened to announce that David Murphey, of Las Vegas, Nevada, passed away at home on December 11, 2024 after experiencing health issues over the last several years. He was 66 years old.”
Murphy’s family confirmed the news of his demise in the statement. They added,
“David was a veteran, small business owner, and software engineer. He had recently retired from the Clark County Treasurer’s office in Nevada.”
The statement further revealed that David was well-known “for his time as a cast member on 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days.” He appeared on Season 4 of the reality show, where he and his Ukrainian girlfriend, Lana, got engaged. However, their relationship was short-lived. David Murphy and Lana eventually broke up and were no longer together at the time of his death, according to various reports.
The family’s statement concluded on a heartfelt note that read David “will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and fans.” The reality star is survived by his two sisters and his cat, Gamera. The family further requested to make a donation to The Animal Foundation in the honor of his memory, as “he had a fierce love for cats.”
