Spider-Man: Brand New Day is taking fans back to the moment in The Avengers (2012) when Tony Stark almost died after falling from space. Captain America, Hulk, and Thor were there, thinking they had lost him, until the green monster roared, and Tony woke up, confirming that nobody had kissed him. All he knew was that they won. Fans feel the same way after the film was announced.
The MCU's Spider-Man is currently the second sub-franchise to go beyond a trilogy, with the first being Chris Hemsworth's Thor. God of Thunder is confirmed for Avengers: Doomsday, by the way, with more likely to join the cast, as hinted by Robert Downey Jr. Let's hope Tom Holland's Peter Parker will be there.
While there's only a little detail on the MCU's fourth Spider-Man film, the release date was confirmed during the CinemaCon announcement, which is set for July 31, 2026, a couple of months after Avengers: Doomsday.
How did fans react to the Spider-Man: Brand New Day announcement?
Let’s just say that the news came as a big satisfaction to fans. The storyline from the comic book Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which is said to be the inspiration for the title, became controversial after it attempted to erase Peter and Mary Jane's marriage from the story. We haven’t seen Mary Jane in the MCU yet, so we can hope Marvel will introduce her in this universe. Maybe they’ll give it a spin, and Peter and Mary Jane can work this out this time. Whatever happens, fans think they have won, even if that’s only one battle. This one fan's reaction says it all, though it's more in support of the logo, which is basically inspired by the 2005 comic book.
The user wasn't alone in this Spider-Man: Brand New Day frenzy. Another fan, dubbed TriMal22305, loves this.
Another one, who doesn't seem to like Marvel's rival DC, feels it's perfection. Just look at that.
And one Jkop couldn't get over the details in the logo. It's just savory by the looks of this reaction.
We should hope that we get to keep this logo for good, as it could be subject to change, as a few fans showed their concern. Even if it does change, we can still hope to see elements from One More Day's story that won't be panned by the fans and critics alike.
What's the Spider-Man: Brand New Day plot like?
Sony didn’t say anything about Spider-Man: Brand New Day's plot, but we have something here popped up recently, pointing out how this story might unfold. What’s interesting is that Robert Downey Jr.'s name was mentioned among a couple more.
We didn’t see Tom Holland's name written on any of the chairs that revealed 26 names reprising their roles from past Marvel films in Avengers: Doomsday. But given that there are likely to be more, as hinted by RDJ, his might pop up this time if that happens.
That said, there arises the possibility that Doctor Doom isn't really going to be a villain. And if RDJ appears in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, he isn't likely to be an antagonist. But he may appear in flashbacks too, which again might be sad for Peter, who misses his mentor a lot.
