As Valentine's Week kicks off, love is in the air—but we’re here to bring you chills instead of roses! Whether you're snuggling up with your partner or embracing your love for horror solo, these spine-tingling movies will keep your heart racing for all the right (or terrifying) reasons.
Some of these horror films have already been released, while others are still on the horizon, but one thing’s for sure—horror fans are in for a treat. Among the titles to look out for is Heart Eyes, along with several others that promise to deliver the thrills. And let’s be honest, if horror is your first love, you won’t need a partner anyway! But if you're looking for more than just horror, February has plenty to offer across genres.
The most anticipated release of the month is Captain America: Brave New World, while other films hitting the screens include My Dead Friend Zoe, No Address, Riff Raff, and more. So, whether you’re in the mood for romance or ready to dive into fear, February’s movie lineup has something for everyone!
Horror movies to watch this month
Heart Eyes
Horror fans will love this Cupid. The characters in the film? Not really. The trailer has already warned people that NO COUPLE IS SAFE. The film debuted in theaters on 7th February 2025, and it is killing it, literally and figuratively.
It sees a killer donning his mask and having heart-shaped eyes, which explains the name, who is on a hunt for couples on Valentine's Day. As for its critical response, it's up and running fresh on Rotten Tomatoes with an approval rating of 86%.
The Gorge
Heart Eyes and The Gorge are the only two horror movies on the list that fit well with the 'horror meets love' theme. The film is coming on Apple TV+ this Valentine's Day, starring Anya Taylor-Joy of The Queen's Gambit (2020) fame and Whiplash (2014) lead Miles Teller.
Both of them are playing a couple of snipers in the film where this gorge sort of serves as a gate to hell. Though they are on guard from their respective posts and are not allowed to contact, the trailer shows they will eventually come together when they fall into the gorge.
Nosferatu (2024)
Out of all the horror movies, this remake of Nosferatu is a must-watch. Not simply because it's a visual spectacle but there's a long history going as far as 1897, which also became one of the most notable cases when it comes to copyrights. The remake will be available on Blu-ray starting February 18, 2025.
In the film, Bill Skarsgard filled the shoes of the infamous vampire Count Orlok who was originally portrayed by Max Schreck in the 1922 film. This one has an ensemble cast of actors, including Willem Dafoe, Nicholas Hoult, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and more, which makes it worthy of a watch for their performances.
Train to Busan
That's a bit older for this horror movie list but Train to Busan still hits the nerves when we see it. We included this one as it's coming on Netflix in the United States. The film was a kickstarter to the franchise of the same name, with two other films, Seoul Station and Train to Busan Presents: Peninsula, in it.
Although the COVID-19 pandemic was a big obstacle for the film industry, Train to Busan was among the ones that didn't feel the impact. As of now, all three films have collectively earned $111 million from the box office.
The Monkey
The Monkey should be on the must-watch horror movies list for February 2025. That's a mix of horror and comedy where this cymbal-banging toy monkey brings misfortune into the lives of people.
It is based on a short story originally written by Stephen King in 1980. There are minor changes in the film but the story will be the same as the source.
