A comedy underdog story, The Replacements stars Keanu Reeves as washed-up quarterback Shane Falco leading a team of misfits during a professional players' strike. Gene Hackman's no-nonsense coach is the perfect foil to the humor and heart of the film, and Howard Deutch directs an appropriate balance of laugh-out-loud moments with a movie about redemption and teamwork. With its quirky characters and hilarious antics, coupled with the underlying message that second chances might just make for greatness on and off the field-that is how this feel-good film remains a favorite amongst fans.
