Ryan Coogler and Michael B. Jordan have quite the history when it comes to the big screen and the latest supernatural action drama Sinners has been just another gem in the duo's crown. With solid critic reviews and RT scores, the WB masterpiece is not only winning thousands of hearts everyday but is also steadily approaching the $100 mark in the box-office (just within a week of release).

Recently, Sinners lead Jordan talked about his late co-star from Black Panther, Chadwick Boseman and how he has been a huge influence while filming Sinners. Per Deadline, he reportedly mentioned in a statement:

"Chadwick Boseman means a lot to us, and once Ryan challenged me by asking, what would Chad be doing right now? "

Considering the fact that Jordan's double role in Sinners was quite challenging, the 38-year-old star took it up in good spirit and as per his statements, Coogler's words about the late Chadwick Boseman further boosted his confidence.

Playing the parts of twin siblings Stack and Smoke in Ryan Coogler's Sinners was quite some assigment for Michael B. Jordan but, his late Marvel co-star Chadwick Boseman's influence played a big role. Per Deadline, he reportedly talked about how Coogler and he would work,

"To raise the bar from one project to the next."

Working on Sinners was a bit different and challenging as it was the first opportunity he ever got to portray "a fully developed man", as Jordan explained. It was at that time when Jordan reminisced Chadwick Boseman's on-screen presence and what the late actor meant for him and Coogler.

As per Deadline, it was quite an emotional moment for the pair and Jordan exactly knew what he would need to do - what the script demanded. Even Ryan Coogler also "had to say nothing else after" they talked about the late Black Panther star and Jordan also could feel Boseman's presence around him.

To quote his exact words:

"And sh*t, man, it broke us up, man. It broke us up, meaning emotionally. But he ain’t had to say nothing else after that. That was one of the buttons that he could push. And I felt Chadwickaaround me during this."

Michael B. Jordan previously starred in Marvel's Black Panther (2018) alongside the late Chadwick Boseman and his comments also reflect his on-set experiences while working alongside the Golden Globe-winning star. Before Sinners, Jordan gained quite some popularity in Hollywood owing to Ryan Coogler's Rocky franchise entry titled Creed (2015).

Jordan also featured in Coogler's directorial debut movie Fruitvale Station which is a bographical drama released back in 2013. The pair also collaborated for Black Panther and ever since they started working together, their on-screen dynamics has been quite commendable.

More about Sinners

Sinners revolves around the story of two war veterans and twin siblings Stack and Smoke who return to their childhood town in Mississippi after a long hiatus. With a whole lot of money they earned from working with gangsters and mobsters in Chicago, the two brothers buy a sawmill farm from a townsman Howard (infamous for his cruel racist ways). Little did they know that they were being tricked.

As Smoke and Stack (with the help of their close ones and associates) set up a juke joint in the mill and throw a grand and pompous opening party, trouble sets in. Their cousin Sammie's magical portrayal of blues music draws the attention of Irish-immigrant turned vampire going by the name Remmick. As Remmick encroaches on the small Mississippi town and kills a Klansmen couple, danger starts boiling up further.

The three blood-thirsty creatures then reach the twin brothers' juke joint and start killing one person after another. The plot culminates as Smoke tries to save his close ones but ends up losing almost every last person. He, almost singlehandedly saves his cousin Sammie and kills all the vampires (or the poeple who were turned into the same).

Sammie manages to make it back to his father's church (on Smoke's advice) but when asked whether he still wants to pursue music after such a tragedy, he chooses his passion and leaves home. Smoke, after learning that Howard had planned to eventually kill him and his family after selling the property, plans to take revenge.

He waits for Howard and his men and once they arrive at the mill, catches them off-guard and wipes the entire clan off. However, Smoke succumbs to a bullet during the encounter.
