Tyrese Gibson recently came forward to dismiss rumours that he appears on convicted felon and rapper Diddy's party footage. Speaking in an Instagram Live stream, quoted via Complex's article on the matter that was published on November 10, 2024, Gibson stated:
"There is no such thing as a Diddy tape, literally. I wanna tell y'all that I've been to some of the most legendary parties, I got no regrets. If you're from L.A. and you've been to these parties, you would know that Diddy always had the most legendary parties that were always star-studded. I got plenty of photos, proudly, like every other celebrity and star that "
The singer continued:
"-went to his party. Anybody who's not on the internet talking about a Diddy party—you should be more concerned about them, allegedly, about what they did or what they on tape doing. There is no such thing allegedly as a Tyrese-Diddy tape. That is a bunch of Donald Trump n****s in my comments, trying to discourage me from speaking up and speaking out."
Diddy was convicted by the Federal authorities in the US of several crimes, including one count of racketeering, one count of s*x trafficking by force, coercion and fraud, as well as one count of transportation for the purpose of prostitution, with all three charges carrying two life sentences plus an additional maximum sentence of 15 years and minimum sentence of 10 years in prison.
Tyrese Gibson has previously defended Diddy
Tyrese Gibson defended Diddy back when authorities first raided Diddy's property in Miami and Los Angeles in relation to the now confirmed conviction of s*x trafficking, stating in a now deleted Instagram post which is here quoted via Complex's article on the matter that was published on March 28, 2024:
"What I can’t do and what I won’t do is downplay the laughter, the fun, the energy, the inspiration, the award shows the studio sessions the most legendary parties and events I’ve ever attended in my life. I also can’t act as if my high school backyard parties throughout south central LA wasn’t the craziest parties ever because of the Bad Boy on slew of hit record."
Gibson went on in the post:
"I don’t condone nor do I support abuse, bullying sexual assault or anything that is currently being alleged but what I can’t do is turn the blinds on how much this mean to me and all of us, and what he has done for the community of music and culture."
Tyrese Gibson also stated in that post that he was praying for Diddy, his family and friends as well as all the 'alleged' victims. He ended the post with a direct message to Diddy, stating that he considered Diddy to be a friend and was there if Diddy needed to talk to someone.
