Jon Gunn's The Unbreakable Boy is an upcoming drama film based on the book (going by the same name) written by Scott Michael LeRette and Susy Flory. The novel in turn is a true story adaptation and will be depicted similarly in the 2025 movie by Kingdom Story Company.
Shazam star Zachary Levi plays one of the lead roles in this drama piece alongside Jacob Laval, who will be cast as the protagonist Austin. The movie centers on an autistic kid (Austin) who also suffers from a brittle bone condition.
As he struggles with life, his father Scott LeRette (played by Levi) remains by his side as a constant support against all odds. This beautiful journey of a father-son bond will hit the theatres on February 21, 2025. The official synopsis of The Unbreakable Boy reads:

When will The Unbreakable Boy be released?
Lionsgate Movies will theatrically release The Unbreakable Boy in The United States on February 21, 2025. Initially, it was set for a 2022 release but later got delayed due to unspecified reasons. After, the distribution studio dropped an official trailer, excitement among fans peaked after they got a glimpse of this comedy-drama led by Shazam star Zachary Levi.
What do we know about the plot of The Unbreakable Boy?
The Unbreakable Boy explores an autistic kid (Austin)'s daily chronicles as he battles multiple health conditions. However, his medical limitations are not able to prevent him from staying joyous and cheerful all the time.
He is a lovable person and wants to keep everyone around him connected through invisible threads of happiness. As he tackles everyday challenges in life, his father eventually realizes that Austin can be broken in ways but his main strength is his 'unbreakable' spirit.
The movie is filled with elements of comedy and drama. It is the perfect portrayal of a father-son bond and a family's love towards a special kid, who refuses to bow before any adversity.

The titular character (Austin LeRette) in The Unbreakable Boy will be played by Jacob Laval. In his father's role, we have Shazam star and Tony Award-nominated actor Zachary Levi. Emmy Award-winning actress Meghann Fahy will be cast as Teresa, Austin's mother.

The movie was first announced by the Erwin Brothers (Andrew Erwin, and Jon Erwin). Shortly in November 2020. Shortly after, filming of The Unbreakable Boy began in Oklahoma in late 2020 and was wrapped up before the year's end.
