Per Digital Spy, the filming for this crime comedy movie began on June 27, 2024, and ended on September 11, 2024, excluding potential reshoots. The film is produced by filmmaker Steven Spielberg's Amblin Entertainment in collaboration with Netflix.

It is directed by Chris Columbus, who is known for his work on the Home Alone movie series and the Harry Potter movie series. He has co-written the film's script with Katy Brand, the writer behind Emma Thompson-led Good Luck to You, Leo Grande.
