MCU's Avengers: Endgame offered a culmination of a decade-long universe that Marvel built piece by piece since the release of Iron Man. It offered all the MCU fans the kind of massive, cathartic moment that they had been craving for many years. Of course, it is impossible to talk about this movie without discussing that big fight. After all, all the previous films had led to that specific moment. It was grand and epic as it brought most of the heroes it had introduced until then to fight the bigger threat.
Even years later, the MCU fans can remember how big of an event it was for them. It brought them to the screens, anticipating something loud and explosive, to beat the tragic events from Infinity War. Everyone eventually entered a battleground to fight. It wouldn't be a stretch to say that they would know every minute detail of this fight and how each hero came into the picture to beat Thanos. Some heroes were more powerful than others, especially in the context of this universe, and it must have been clear who was pulling more weight than others.
In the chaos of all these events, some mistakes can happen, whether on the screen or behind it. One such moment occurred at a pivotal point that must have received applause and cheers from the audience. However, there is something amiss in that scene. Let's discuss what specific moment includes this mistake.

The greatest MCU scene in Avengers: Endgame has a mistake in the fight between Thor and Captain America
Even for someone who hates hyperboles since they defeat the purpose of balanced discussions, the climactic battle scene at the end of Avengers: Endgame is still one of the most exciting sequences to have come out of this universe. It is filled with action, but it also offers an emotional vigor that may not always be possible. In a universe that has mostly relied on high-stakes scenarios, this scene even had higher stakes than usual.
Similarly, they included some pleasantly surprising moments that cheered both the on-screen heroes and the MCU fans. One of them was when Thanos and Thor came face to face in battle. Shortly before, Thor is seen dealing with trauma and behaving unlike how MCU fans have usually seen him. He does not look as royal as before, but appears much more relatable as a figure trying to get through each passing day. Somehow, other heroes cheer him up to enter the fight and use his powers for the greater good.
During the fight, Thor is still overtaken by emotions as Thanos takes control of his Stormbreaker (the axe) and uses it to cut through his chest. As it happens, Thor's Mjolnir (the hammer), lying aside, suddenly starts shaking. As fans know, only someone considered to be worthy of it can yield it. That has usually been Thor. Somehow, Captain America manages to yield it and throw it at Thanos. After it hits Thanos, he is suddenly shown holding a double-edged sword instead of Stormbreaker. So, someone might ask: When does he lose the axe and pick up that sword?
MCU fans might have a more logical reasoning as to why that happens. However, in the movie, it almost looks as if one transforms into the other. One may argue that it is a minor technical error that need not be addressed, considering the intensity of the war at hand. So, it feels more like a continuity error in the film. In all fairness, it is a trivial error that does not take away from the thrill or emotion of the scene. And when someone as legendary as Thelma Schoonmaker has focused on the emotion of the scene over fixing the continuity lapses, the technicalities may not matter in the grand scheme of things.
