Fans of Speilberg's The Goonies are widely excited ever since rumors of the classic film's potential sequel, The Goonies 2, have come around. The 1985 movie The Goonies continues to remain top tier for fans looking for an amalgamation of a cult storyline with humor. The Goonies is centered around a group of children who are residents of Goon Docks in Astoria, Oregon.
After hearing about the possibility of losing their beloved home to an allegedly nefarious property-developing company, they ponder ways to save their home. The children think of unique ways to save their home but their efforts prove futile.
That is until they discover what seems to be a map that they believe would lead them to a pirate’s treasure somewhere in an underground cave of their town. A sequel to the movie has been anticipated by fans since then. It finally seems like the wait is over because “Goonies never say die!” The Goonies 2 is officially in the works and will most likely be released either in 2026 or 2027 per a report by The US Sun.
