Prime Video's heartfelt exploration of Anthony Robles' life and career in Unstoppable was one of the highlights of the streaming site last year. The film topped the charts and garnered critical acclaim for its poignant portrayal of Robles.

Based on the athlete's book Unstoppable: From Underdog to Undefeated: How I Became a Champion which he released in 2012, the film primarily revolved around the events surrounding him becoming the 2011 NCAA wrestling champion.

The ending of the film documents the victoric end to the championship and how Robles fights against all odds to lift off the coveted cup. Here's how Unstoppable ends and how Anthony Robles creates history with his win.

The ending of Unstoppable

Anthony faces off against Matt McDonough, who was also his opponent in 2010's finals where he lost. This loss lingers around his head as he faces him again in 2011. McDonough is also a two-time NCAA champion, meaning that his win against Robles would make him a three-time champion.

This is, however, a fictional element in the story, as Robles did not actually face off against McDonough in 2010. Robles finished 7th the previous year as McDonough faced off against Andrew Long.

As shown in the film, in the previous match, a large reason why Robles lost was because of his tactic in the match where he charged McDonough aggressively, which made him lose focus and made him a more vulnerable target for his opponent. In the 2011 match, he gets more driven and focused and uses spot-on tactics to attack his opponent, leading to a 36-0 victory in his favor.

The film's ending also details Judy Robles, his mom, who finally makes it out of her abusive relationship with her husband Rick Robles. Throughout the film, it is portrayed how the atmosphere of Anthony's home was anything but supportive as he was constantly chided by Rick, who didn't take care of the family financially. The ending of Unstoppable tells viewers how Judy graduated from Arizona State University and even earned a doctorate degree. She currently works as the Assistant Dean for students at the University.

The film's ending primarily focuses on the nature of Robles, being unstoppable in the face of adversity. Having been born with a physical deformity, he still fought his way to the top and became an inspiration for millions.

Anthony Robles went on to become a motivational speaker and an ESPY winner while also coaching high school athletes. He retired from wrestling after the 2011 championship and focused on more philanthropic endeavors. He went on to write his own autobiography, which inspired the film, where he describes his life in a quote and says,

"My spirit is unconquerable... I don't care what's probable. Through blood, sweat, and tears, I am unstoppable."

Robles was also appointed by then-President Barack Obama to be a part of the President's Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition in 2013. He is also a Nike athlete and has worked as an NCAA wrestling analyst for ESPN.

As he continues to explore humanitarian feats, his story continues to be one of great determination and courage that have inspired millions of athletes. True to the film's title, Robles has proved himself to be unstoppable in the face of any hardship, and Unstoppable is a testimony to his power as an athlete.
