We got the final trailer of the upcoming Anthony and Joe Russo-directed The Electric State. That doesn't go without saying it's doing true justice to the name. A majority of the first one gave us a peek at how things began in the story, but this one gives us a fair picture of what the movie is actually about.

The film is based on a graphic novel created by Swedish artist Simon Stalenhag, where this girl is out in a technologically ravaged dystopian world trying to find her brother. There will be humans, there will be robots, and there will be robots with human faces on their screens.

It stars an ensemble cast where Millie Bobby Brown, Chris Pratt, Stanley Tucci, and more are humans, while some stars - Woody Harrelson, Brian Cox, and more will spell their magic behind certain character voices. So let us see who is playing who to give you a glimpse of the characters before The Electric State finally arrives on Netflix.

The cast and characters of The Electric State explained

Millie Bobby Brown as Michelle

Millie Bobbie Brown played Eleven in Stranger Things, who has psychokinetic and telepathic abilities. She'll again find herself in a sci-fi world, but this time, she doesn't really possess such abilities except for her instinct that says her lost brother is still out there.

Apart from being an actress who has portrayed some interesting characters like Princess Elodie in Damsel (2024) and Enola Holmes in Enola Holmes (2020) and its sequel (2022), she is also a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

Chris Pratt as Keats

When you look at the final trailer of The Electric State, you will see a low-life, cool dude smuggler who appears to be some modern version of Frank Zappa (oh, he was ahead of his time, believe me); that's Chris Pratt playing Keate in the film. Millie's character will be teaming up with him as she finds her brother.

While you might know him as Peter Quill, aka Star Lord, from the Guardians of the Galaxy and other MCU films, we know him as Barry from Wanted (2008). Who? You ask? He's the same guy who becomes the victim of James McAvoy's Wesley after his mental breakdown and gets hit with a keyboard. Oh, he sure deserved it. Go see the movie once.

Stanley Tucci as Ethan Skate

Some stars age like fine wine, and Stanley Tucci is one of them. He plays Ethan Skate in The Electric State. He is a tech entrepreneur in the film, and we see him talking about some kind of breakthrough. Hmm... he surely is one pivotal character.

That is actually one heavy list, so we will just talk about some important characters. First up is another Marvel star joining Chris Pratt, Anthony Mackie, who will be the voice of his robo sidekick Herman. We recently saw him carrying the Captain America mantle in the latest MCU film.

The charming Woody Harrelson is the voice of Mr. Peanut, who is said to be a robot but more humane than most humans, a quality we see in Sophie Thatcher's Iris in Companion (2025).

Alan Tudyk is the voice of Cosmo, a robot likely being controlled by Michelle's brother (Woody Norman of C'mon C'mon). If you are struggling to jog your memory, he is the badass assistant of Simmons, Dutch Gerhardt, from Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011).

Many more stars will be there, giving voices to characters in The Electric State, including Giancarlo Esposito, Brian Cox, Hank Azaria, and more. You'll get to meet them all on March 7, 2025.
